Curiosity Kills

SHE TOSSED AND TURNED all night long in her bed, she couldn't get the images out of her head. The way the people cheered and how much Eddie enjoyed the fighting. It scared her, the anger in his eyes and the way he moved so well, a dance of sorts but there were no winners in this tango.

Josie yawned against the seat, her two coffees leaving her body. Another slow morning again and it was already lunch, she didn't know how she was going to go into the firehouse. Pretending as if she didn't just uncover a big secret of the man she cared about.

"November 23rd," Levi spoke up, tapping her with a green envelope. She furrowed her brows taking it from him and opening it, revealing a black and gold cardstock photo of him and Liz.

"Oo pretty," Alex comments looking at it, he smiles leaning back into his seat.

"You both get plus ones, so invite only one person its a small thing." He informs them.

"Family and close friends, I have enough family members to go around." Levi chuckles. Josie smiled softly setting it down on the dash.

"I'm really happy for you." She tells him.

"Thank you, It means a lot to have you two there." He admits to them, she smiles at his softness. "Why wouldn't we be, our rookie is becoming a man." Alex teased him, laughing.

"Is Liz having a lot of family coming?" Josie wonders, he shrugs.

"Fairly, at least the ones who can make it here in time, TSA is not the friendliest to people coming from South America." He explains

"I get that, my brother his first marriage he tried to invite family from Baymo, but they didn't want to come." Josie retells them. Alex tapped the steering wheel.

"When my mum remarried, I don't think my nan was happy, she is really old and didn't like mum marrying someone from a different background."

"Bet you can infer what I mean." Alex cleared her throat. "Anywho, I will be taking us dress shopping sometime." She says patting her on the shoulder.

"Here we are," Alex says, parking the ambulance behind the 118 Batilon car. Josie hopped out the passenger door, walking around and opening the back doors for Levi.

The group walked inside the firehouse passing by other workers, heading upstairs to the living room area of the 118 firehouse. Josie smiled at everyone looking to the kitchen, she furrowed her brows seeing a Sargent Grant in the kitchen where Captain Nash usually was.

"Okay, that's new," Josie comments. Buck nodded at her. "Yeah uh, special guest chef for today." He smiled.

"I don't care who is cooking, as long as it's free and not me." Alex laughs, taking the seat next to Buck, snatching the magazine next to him, and propping her leg up.

Levi handed out more invitations to everyone, a select few at least. They admired the calligraphy on the front, congratulating him on his marriage.

"Dude I didn't know you were engaged," Eddie says, his legs parted on the armchair he sat in. Josie's lips parted as her heart pounded, looking away anywhere that wasn't by there.
