STUPID HERO ACT. She thought it was just her luck that he was not gonna leave the young boy down in the pipe. One half of her was staying selfish about him, wanting him top side to be safe. The other reminded her this was his job, saving people. Why couldn't that include himself?

"Chim!" Captain Nash Shouted, walking over to the screening. Josie touched the ends of her braid, which comforted her, trying to regain her composure.

"I want you to gear up, I'm sending you down." He ordered the man. "Copy that." Chim complied.

"Cap!" A voice shouted back.  "I should be the one to go down," Buck stated. Josie stepped up to the monitor.

"So we can end up with two cut lines?" Hen says. "Camera's back!" Chimney announced.
Josie stepped up, furrowing seeing the dark image. Her heart dropped.

"It's underwater," Josie tells them. She sighed heavily, shaking her head. Hopefully, it's only the camera, " Hen says.

Josie stepped away, her wet jacket arms smacking her sides frustrated with their current situation.

The Lighting cracked across the sky, she crawled into the back of her ambulance, grabbing her water bottle. She groaned, gulping down the liquid. She shook her head, setting the drink down. Alex jogged over to her, her arms crossed and on the ambulance, watching her best friend.

"Are you okay?" Alex wondered, she shook her head. "No." Josie deadpanned, running her fingers over her braid.

"Why am I like this? Why am I so scared? this is our job?" Josie ranted, looking at her friend. "I never was like this and now suddenly I can't handle this."

"Because you love him," Alex stated. Josie's heart skipped a beat, her blood running hot as shivers ran down her spine. She stared at her wide-eyed, her jaw agape.

"I...I what?" Josie stammered, shaking her head. "I'm not, It hasn't been." She stopped midsectence

"Does it matter how long it has been?" Alex asked her, taking a seat next to her.  "It's okay to care, Josie, there is nothing wrong with that." She says.

"What's not good is for you to be lying about your feelings." She declared. Josie's breath shook, her chest rising up and down.

"I'm not dealing with this right now." She says, getting to her feet.

"Jo." Alex called to her, "No!" Josie shouted back, she marched over to the tents. The blonde shook her head, annoyed at her stubbornness.

BELOW THE SURFACE, the man awoke his eyes shooting open hearing the sound of the little boy calling for his mom. Rainwater ran as he sat up, the light of his flashlight casting his shadow onto the mud and rock.

Eddie sat up, reaching into the pipe. His headlamp shining on the boy, he gripped his little hands as he began to pull him out.

"Alright Hayden, come on buddy." Eddie encouraged him, lifting him out into the drilled hole. He wrapped the foiled safety blanket around the young boy.
