The Calm

LAST NIGHT WAS a scare for everyone, and it didn't take a genius to know it was gonna effect the next day. She walked into the firehouse with Levi and Alex right by her side, a white box in her hands.

"We come with gifts," Levi says, cheers from the firefighters scattered. Coming up to them taking donuts from their opened boxes. A young girl in a red nursing scrub comes up to the three of them, clipboard in hand.

"May I see what your blood type is?" She asks, Josie furrowed her brows chuckling nervously. "I'm sorry what for?" Josie asks her, she clears her throat.

"Uh my biomedical class, we are here doing a small experiment where we try to determine blood types." The young girl explained with a smile. Alex pats Levi on his shoulder. "He would love to." She says.

Levi stuttered. "Uh, sure." He says.

She smiled leading him over to a bench with two others in nurse scrubs, they gave him a thumbs-up before walking upstairs. She got to the table setting down the white box down, sighing.

"What's with Grey's Anatomy down there?" Josie asks Captain Nash, he smirks with a shrug. "UCLA Biomedical they come in for summer classes, doing experiments." He explains.

"They are also partnered with the nursing program so two birds one stone," Hen explains, biting into her scrambled egg. She smiled fondly, getting a sense of nostalgia.

"Make me miss being in college, I loved it when we did diving trips," Josie tells them. Eddie turned around leaning back on the bar stool. She looked at anything else but the open space between him.

"You never said what you studied?" Eddie points out, she shrugs her shoulders. "Marine Biology, I chose a totally different career path." She chucked.

"Shouldn't be like a doctor or scientist then?" Chimney wonders, and she shrugs. "I'm supposed to be a lot of things, but here I am." She remarks.

"I mean look at Cap, shouldn't he be your next Gordon Ramsey or Guy Feri." She deflects pointing to the man at the stove cooking up eggs and bacon, he smirked. "Well thank you for that, but this is more of a hobby." He tells her.

"And I wouldn't trade this job for anything else." Captain Nash tells her, Eddie furrowed his brows turning around.

"Even if paid more?" He wonders. He stopped for a moment thinking about it.

"Okay..maybe." He answered clicking his tongs, he looked up at the two EMTs.

"How do you like your eggs?" He asks. "Overeasy, sunny side up is gross," Josie tells him, she turned around walking away.
