A Simple Favor
Minor Smut Ahead
THE SAME OLD ROUTINE was a little different today, she had gotten up earlier with Alex to go to work. She planned to take an early shower, which was forted by the city of Los Angeles doing work in their neighborhood.
Josie walked to the 118 locker room with a tray of coffee cups. She was making her stop at the firehouse quickly as Bobby wasn't there to get them breakfast so she had to opt for something not homemade.
"Albert is annoying but maybe he's right," Chimney says closing his locker. She stopped walking, leaning on the doorway, unsure of the context of the conversation.
"Things with me and Maddie are great but we aren't exactly lighting the world on fire." He says. Eddie buttoned up his work shirt. "Does it matter what he thinks?" He asks him.
"Only you know how you feel about Maddie." He reminded him. Chimney tucked his shirt into his pants. "I really care about her-"Ah" Hen interrupted him.
"The dreaded C-word," Hen says, looking to Josie who smirks. "I really care about good arch support, but that's not how you feel about a significant other." She explained.
"Obviously I care about her more than good arch support," Chimney explained, Hen nodded. "Okay, how much more?" She asked.
"A lot." He says. Josie shook her head. "Saying you care about someone is just code for." She stopped.
" I am too scared to say I love you," Josie explained, purposely she avoided the look from Eddie she knew she was getting.
"Hey, I am not scared." He emphasized. She shrugged, handing Hen a cup of coffee. "Well, do you love her?" Josie asked him.
He took a moment, sitting down. A soft smile creeping to his lips, he nodded. "I do." He admitted.
"And does she love you?" Eddie added. Chimney exhaled deeply. "It's unclear." He says, Josie shakes her head. Unbelievable.
"I mean I feel like she does but neither of us has actually said those exact words out loud." He stated. The three of them looked at the man, questioning him on his seriousness.
"You've been together for like a year," Hen says. "Technically we have been dating for ten months, and three weeks" He corrected.
"So you have been together for like a year." She stated. The three of them chuckled with each other at her insistence.
"With everything she's been through, you know that we've been through, we just wanted to take it slow." Chimney somberly tells them. Josie nodded, understanding too well about wanting to go slow.
"Glaciers move faster Chim," Hen remarked. Josie's pocket buzzed with a ringtone, she reached around took out her phone, and saw the caller ID, Diego.
