Chapter 3: Connecting the Dots

There was a horrible fire at a tall building and Talia was in a helicopter trying to save the trapped office workers.

"We can't get in any closer, the fire is too big." The pilot said.

"There's a water tank down there!" Talia said. "We can use that."

Talia jumped out of the helicopter on to the building.

"Talia!" The pilot said.

Talia tried to make it to the water valve but the ground under the tank gave in and caused the water tank to begin to fall on top of her but luckily the Masked Vigilante came in at the last second and destroyed the water tank causing water to go all over the building and saving the people.

The incident was all over the news in the aftermath.

"Whatever. This masked man doesn't have jack-shit on me." Takato Sai said.

The Next Morning:

TJ was flying off to school in his Masked Vigilante persona when his little sister Mya caught up with him.

"Big Brother! Wait up!" Mya said.

"Hey sis, what's up?" TJ said.

"Say you'll be safe." Mya said.

"I'll be safe, Mya." TJ chuckled.

"Okay, good." Mya smiled. "See you after school."

"Bye, Sis!" TJ said as he flew off.

As TJ made it to the city, Talia spotted him as she was flying in her plane on the way to school.

"Ah crap." TJ said.

"You've got to be kidding me." Talia said.

"Damn it! Gotta move!" TJ said.

TJ began flying away from Talia, but she gave chase.

"You're not shaking me." Talia said.

"Get a hobby already." TJ said.

"I will unmask you!" Talia declared.

TJ stopped in the middle of the street and vanished as Talia almost crashed into him.

"They whole point was not to be discovered." TJ said. "How am I going to-"

Talia then surprisingly found him.

"Good job of tracking me down." TJ said.

"Don't play that with me." Talia said. "What's that mask hiding?"

"That's classified information." TJ said. "I'm just a masked vigilante."

"Yeah. With superhuman powers." Talia said. "You're not a normal guy."

"Look over there!" TJ said.

Talia turned her head and TJ took her plane and put it on top of a building.

"Hey!" Talia said.

"See you later." TJ said as he flew away.

"I will expose you." Talia said.

"Now I'm late." TJ said. "Aw man."

"So, you were late too?" Aika said.

"Yeah.... wait what do you mean "too"? Talia said.

"TJ was late as well." Aika said. "He came in just before you did."

"That's odd. The masked man was coming in this direction."  Talia thought. "This doesn't add up."

Two criminals were causing trouble in the streets.

"Stop it you two." TJ said.

"You better watch it boy." One of the criminals said.

"You better watch out for me." TJ said.

The criminal punched TJ but flinched back in pain.

Talia stepped in and kicked the criminal in the face.

"Ah shit. She's here." The other criminal said as the criminals ran away.

"Hey, are you okay?" Talia asked.

"Yeah, I'm good." TJ said.

"Sorry I didn't jump in sooner." Talia said. "I got this thing where I believe you're the masked vigilante, so I waited to what you would do."

"That's wild." TJ chuckled nervously.

"Clearly I was wrong." Talia said. "I'm just glad I stepped in when I did."

"Phew, that was close."  TJ thought.

The Next Day at School:

Talia got a call about the city's mayor being held hostage.

They had the mayor at knife point.

"Just shoot him already." the mayor said.

Talia then dashed out of the classroom to the scene.

"Let the mayor go!" Talia said.

The crime boss named Rok walked up to Talia.

"Hmph, your father won't be able to recognize you when this is over." Rok said.

The two began fighting.

"Whoever Talia is fighting has her outmatched."  TJ thought. "Now, how do can I get out of here?"

TJ began aggressively tapping his foot which began shaking the school.

"Everyone! Under your desks!" The teacher said.

TJ ran out of the classroom to the roof, transformed and flew to Talia.

"You know how to handle yourself." Rok said.

The Masked Vigilante arrived.

"Who the fuck are you?" A goon said as he pointed a gun to TJ's head.

TJ bent the barrel of the gun and proceeded knock out all of the goons and freed the mayor.

But TJ looked over at Talia who was held in a chokehold, but she managed break free and knock Rok out and defeat him.

"Thank you." Talia said.

"No problem." TJ said.

"But this doesn't mean you're off the hook just yet." Talia smirked. "I will find out who you are."

"Best of luck with that." TJ said as he flew away.

The Next Day - At school:

"He ditched again?" Talia said, causing TJ to take interest in eavesdropping.

"Yeah, after the earthquake he was gone." Aika said. "He showed right back up before you did."

"I fucking knew it!" Talia said as she turned around but TJ was gone.

"What? where did he go?" Aika said.

"Dude is a boss." Bilal said. "Houdini has nothing on him."

TJ slipped away back home unnoticed.
