Chapter 28: Akame vs Lars

"M-My ship! My ship is destroyed!" Drakeo cried. "Curses! Curses! Curses! I did not need this!"

Drakeo then turned to Lars.

"Lars, you didn't have to see who blew up my ship, did you?" Drakeo said.

After a moment, Akame exited out from the smoke.

"You did this?!" Drakeo said.

"Yup." Akame said.

"Akame!" Chelsea said.

"Aunty!" Mya cheered.

"Whoa, she looks different." Leone noted.

"Like we said, a lot happened since the three of you were out." Lubbock said.

"Is she really going to fight him?" Najenda said.

"That's what it looks like." Mine said.

"You traitor. After all the power I gave you!" Drakeo said.

"Hmph." Akame scoffed.

"Why the fuck did you blow up my ship?!" Drakeo said.

"Overkill, I know." Akame said. "Smashing through your ship's portals was the fastest way here."

"You're supposed to be under my control." Drakeo said. "I've never ordered you to smash my ship to rubble. Stop defying me!"

"So, is the obese looking diabetic Lars?" Akame asked.

"Ahh." Lars childishly smiled.

"If so, you're the sick monster who killed TJ." Akame said.

Leone, with her advanced hearing, heard this and was sick to her stomach.

"What!" Leone said.

"Leone? What happened? What did Akame say?" Mine asked.

"Yeah, what did she say?" Mya asked.

Leone remained shocked and horrified.

"Monster? What's that?" Lars asked. "This girl talking about Lars?"

"It just means you're big and your face is scary looking." Drakeo summarized.

"Oh." Lars smiled.

Lars then immediately got scowled and got very angry.

"He's definitely something." Akame chuckled.

"Lars is angry!" Lars screamed. Lars want to kill you!"

"You brought this on yourself Akame!" Drakeo said. "Kill her, Lars. She's useless to me now."

"Not smart, Akame." Lubbock said. 

"Yeah, that creature is raising his power." Chelsea said.

"That's one nasty opponent." Sheele said.

"Kill her, Lars! Kill Akame with all your power!" Drakeo shouted as he ran away to a safe distance. "Don't hold back!"

Lars then put his arms up and began smiling.

"Tatsumi... I didn't know the significance that you would bring to my life."  Akame thought. "I really didn't think I would be able to emotionally attach myself to any friends I've ever had because they all would end up dead. All I had was my sister. I thought you would be that one outlier but then you were forced to play the hero and sacrifice yourself, three times at that because the line of work an assassin and protecting the lives of countless others is unpredictable and demanding. I never looked at it from your perspective. I was selfish and should've understood you. But now, let me play the hero. Sleep now, Tatsumi, sleep as long as you like. When you wake, this will all be over. Lars' story will be finished and so will I."
