Chapter 19: Waiting for the Demon King

"That was incredible dad." TJ said. "You really hit that monster with everything you had, didn't you?"

"Eh, I don't know." Tatsumi chuckled. "Not really."

"Tatsumi's did it again."  Esdeath thought. "He's breaking through his Imperial God path at an incredible rate. Just how far will you go my love?"

"What the hell!? What did he do to my Dormon!?" Drakeo said.

"Dormon's greed caused his own death." Monsoon said.

"But how!? Dormon's appetite was legendary." Drakeo said. "How could a mere earthling make him burst? Like an overinflated balloon. I underestimated the power of these bastards, and I lured them onto my ship."

"Master, allow me to put your mind at ease." Monsoon said. "I myself will be stage three. Their energy will be absorbed to allow Lars to finally awaken. I guaranteed it."

"Guarantee? If you're beaten, I'll be completely defenseless down here." Drakeo said. "Are you absolutely sure that you can win?"

"Yes. I'm sure." Monsoon chuckled. "For I am Monsoon, the King of the Demon Realm. No matter how much power they summon, they will fall at my feet, begging for their worthless, pathetic lives."

 "I wonder what's next." Mine said.

"Hey, TJ, get ready, you're up next." Tatsumi said.

"Tatsumi, wait! This isn't the martial arts tournament." Lex said. "Drakeo's minions are some of the strongest warriors the multiverse as ever seen. If you lose, that's it! Fighting them one on one has worked for us so far but let's be cautious and fight together."

"Well, I don't think we need to go that far." Tatsumi said. "Besides, it wouldn't be right."

"It wouldn't?" Lex said.

"Yeah, it's not fair for TJ to not to fight by himself." Tatsumi said.

"We have faith in our son." Mine said. "He's more than capable of handling this. He's been training his ass off for the last seven years."

"Well, Tatsumi and Mine believe in their son, that's for sure." Lubbock chuckled.

"No kidding." Chelsea said.

"They have every reason to believe in him because we sure do." Sheele said.

"Let's see what he can do." Najenda said.

"I want to see TJ's power on display too."  Esdeath thought.

"Well, go on." Drakeo said.

"Of course, only their energy will remain when I'm done with them." Monsoon said.

"Wait, Monsoon. The door to stage three is over there." A soldier said.

"Don't question his methods." Drakeo said. 

"The meditation room?" the solider said. "Oh, I get it. Monsoon is going to boost his energy higher before he's takes him on."

Monsoon then entered the meditation room.

"Monsoon is not to be disturbed in there." Drakeo said. "He'll come out when he's ready to."

"Right." the soldier said.

"He's getting his mind ready." Drakeo said. "Once he does, he'll deal with our pests soon enough."

"Whoever it is, they're taking time in there." TJ said.

"Try not to get antsy son." Tatsumi said. "Some real hot shot is probably getting prepped and ready to face you."

"I wonder what's been going on at the tournament since we left." Sheele said.

"It's probably cancelled." Lubbock said.

"They did lose a lot of contestants at once." TJ said.

"I can't believe I got duped into fighting these intergalactic weaklings." Esdeath said. "I wanted to test your power, Tatsumi."

"I wanted to get a crack at you too, babe." Mine said. "We were going to fight in the first round after all."

"Yeah, same here." Tatsumi said. "Maybe next time."

"These assassins are unbelievable."  Lex thought. "All they seem to care about is the thrill of the fight. They have no regard for danger at all."

With Mya and the Jaegers:

"What the hell was that all about?" Seryu said.

"Yeah, and commander went with them, should we go?" Bols said.

"Are Tatsumi and the others still aren't back yet?" Wave asked as he walked up towards the group.

"No, they're still gone." Kurome said.

"I think they're about to cancel the tournament." Mya said.

"If that's the case, let's go." Seryu said.

"Come on, Mya." Kurome said as she picked Mýa up.

"Okay." Mya said. "Will Mama, Papa, and Big Brother be back?"

"I have no idea." Kurome said. "We don't even know where they flew off to."

"Aww." Mya moped.

"Don't be sad, Mya." Bols said as he gave her an ice cream cone. "I'm sure they're alright."

"Yeah, I mean, they are your parents and big brother, right?" Wave said.

"Yeah, they are." Mya said.

The Jaegers and Mya left the tournament arena and were going to fly to the capital after staying at the concession stands for a while.

"Well, thank god." Takato Sai said. "I get to keep my title and those weirdos are leaving."

Back at Drakeo's Ship:

"How long is this going to take?" Tatsumi said.

"That's it, I'm breaking down the door." Esdeath said.

"No! Don't Esdeath!" Lex said. 

"We're wasting time in here." Esdeath said.

"You can't start breaking things because you're impatient!" Lex said. "That won't be in our benefit!"

Drakeo was laughing at the sight through his crystal ball.

"Is Monsoon ready yet?" Drakeo asked.

"Sir, he's still inside the room." the soldier replied.

"That's what I like to hear." Drakeo said. "Boost your power as high as you can, Monsoon. Crush them all flat!"
