"Here comes the last of them." a female reporter said. "I don't want to miss the prelims, let's make this quick."
The reporter tried to ask Esdeath a question, but Esdeath and the rest of the Jaegers strutted straight past her.
"Say, don't they look familiar?" the reporter said. "I could've sworn I seen them before."
The reporter then approached Night Raid.
"Excuse me sir, how far have you traveled to be here?" the reporter asked.
"Well, I came from the the Spirit Realm." Tatsumi said casually as he pointed to the sky.
"We got a kidder." the reporter laughed.
"I wouldn't joke about something like that." Tatsumi said.
"You're very committed to this spirit realm angle which explains that spiffy prop halo." the reporter said.
"No, it's the real thing." Tatsumi said. "They're standard issue when you die."
Susanoo then destroyed the camera.
"Hmph, good ole Susanoo." Bulat chuckled as the rest of Night Raid continued on.
"How the fuck did you break it!" The reporter shouted. "Incompetent moron!"
"I don't know how it broke." the cameraman said.
"I'm bummed." TJ sighed. "I really wanted to face off with you guys."
"Well, you'll be eighteen next year honey." Mine said. "You'll be able to fight with us then."
"Yeah, I guess." TJ said. "But dad won't be here next year."
"Everyone is so outclassed it's not even funny." Lubbock said. "We're the only ones that can land a hit on each other."
"You said it." Chelsea said.
Night Raid and Esdeath then made their way out to the preliminaries.
"We got a full house here, huh?" Tatsumi said.
"People, people everywhere." Mine grunted.
"They're all a bunch of weaklings." Najenda said.
"What! I don't believe it! It's you!" the tournament announcer said. "I've been waiting to see your face again Tatsumi!"
"What's up?" Tatsumi said.
"Let's be real, you and your friends defeated Vain not Takato Sai, right? Come on, I wasn't born yesterday." the tournament announcer said. "I am glad you're back because all of these tournaments have mediocre after you and your friends left."
The announcer then looked around at Night Raid and Esdeath.
"That's your friends over there?" the announcer asked.
"Yup." Tatsumi said.
"Awesome! Where's Sayo and Ieyasu?" the announcer asked.
"They passed a while ago." Tatsumi said.
"Damn, that sucks. Sorry, to hear that." the announcer said. "By the way, what's with the halo?"
"It's a souvenir from fighting Vain." Tatsumi said. "I'm here on a one-day pass from the Spirit Realm."
"Glad somebody knows how incredible dad is." TJ thought.
"Well, you guys give them a good show!" the announcer said as he walked off.
Everyone then gathered around with the preliminary announcements.
"Of the two hundred people that entered; only twenty will be able to compete in one-on-one combat." the president said. "One of the spots will be reserved for Takato Sai as he's the reigning champion. We'll be using a punching machine to score everyone's strength. The top nineteen will be allowed into the tournament."
