Chapter 62: One Minute

Tatsumi and Kid Lars' battle continued to rage on.

Tatsumi and Kid Lars charged at each other and landed blow for blow and counterattack for counterattack.

Kid Lars landed a kick to Tatsumi's ribs, but Tatsumi fired back with a kick to the face. Kid Lars gut punched Tatsumi and Tatsumi responded with an elbow to the back of the neck.

Tatsumi and Kid Lars then headbutted each other. After the collision, Tatsumi kicked Kid Lars in the ribs for some payback.

Kid Lars grabbed by the leg and swung him into a boulder. Kid Lars chased after Tatsumi, but Tatsumi fired four energy beams at Kid Lars that sandwiched him. Two were being held with his legs and the other two had Lars bending backwards to block them.

Tatsumi fired anther beam at Kid Lars, but at the same time, Kid Lars sent the four beams back at Tatsumi and deflected the fifth one back at Tatsumi as well.

But as the smoke cleared, Tatsumi was gone. As Kid Lars looked around, he was sent to the ground with a blindsiding kick by Tatsumi. As Kid Lars stopped himself, and landed on the ground, Tatsumi came raining down with stomp to Kid Lars. Tatsumi placed a hand on the back of Kid Lars' head and fired an energy beam that went through the planet.

On a Distant Planet:

"Those are more than scratches." Kubo said. "They're going to destroy our whole world!"

"Come on! Have perspective! Their battle affects more than just our planet!" Elder Priest said. "Who cares about that trivial rock when the multiverse is at stake!"

"Come on, Tatsumi. Keep fighting." Megan said.

On the World of the Priests:

Kid Lars pulled Tatsumi down underground and threw him around into the walls before slamming him on the ground.

"Wow Lars, you're a tough opponent." Tatsumi said as he sat up. "Can't underestimate you. If I'd known killing you was going to be this hard, me and Akame would've finished you off back on earth when we fused into Taka. Still, I'll fight until I have nothing left. I can't allow you to win."

Tatsumi landed a kick to Kid Lars' head; a kick to the back of the neck; an elbow to the gut; a bicycle kick to back; and then kicked Kid Lars through one of the cave walls.

Tatsumi dropped to his knees in exhaustion but as he looked up, he saw Kid Lars sitting on a ledge whistling.

"Shit. Now my attacks aren't damaging him, let alone slowing him down." Tatsumi said. "What the fuck is going on?"

Kid Lars stuck his tongue out at Tatsumi and charged at him. Kid Lars inflated himself and was about to crush Tatsumi, but Tatsumi blasted Kid Lars out of from underground and followed him.

Kid Lars instantly began regenerating.

"Great, he'll reform and come right back at me." Tatsumi said. "He isn't losing any strength at all."

"Tatsumi." Akame said.

"Akame? What's up?" Tatsumi replied.

"Be honest with me. Do you think I have chance against Lars?" Akame asked. 

Tatsumi hesitated from a moment.

"No, I don't think you have a chance at all." Tatsumi said.

"Okay good, just making sure it wasn't just self-doubt." Akame said. 

"Akame?" Tatsumi said.

"Don't worry, Tatsumi. I can handle the truth." Akame said. "I only took a moment of fighting him to realize it. He outclasses me and so do you. So don't hold back."
