Chapter 63: Band Together

"His dumbass is going to get himself killed!" Emperor Makoto said.

Kid Lars swung at Takato Sai.

But as Takato Sai was begging for his life, he was inadvertently dodging Kid Lars attacks.

"Please! I'm sorry!" Takato Sai begged. "I didn't mean any of it!"

"He's actually dodging Lars' attacks." Tatsumi said. "Wow, I underestimated you."

Takato Sai backed away from Kid Lars.

Kid Lars marched towards Takato Sai, but stopped and grabbed his head and began screaming in pain.

Takato Sai was confused by this but took advantage of the situation by thinking Kid Lars was scared of him.

"That's weird."  Tatsumi thought. "Something does seem to be affecting Lars. Could Takato Sai actually have some powers I'm not sensing."

"Tatsumi... This is your chance." Akame said as she spat out blood.

"Right." Tatsumi said as he started raising his power.

Kid Lars spat out the fat Lars and sent him tumbling across the ground.

On a distant planet:

"What just happened?" Kubo asked. 

"I have no clue." Elder Priest said.

"I think I get it. That pudgier Lars was quite fond of Takato Sai and though he was no longer attached to this purely evil on he was still inside him." Megan said. "That must've been enough to keep this Lars from attacking his old friend."

"Yeah, that would explain why he spat out the butterball." Elder Priest said. "He doesn't want anything holding him back. Well, that makes it open season on this Takato Sai fella. It's no big loss."

"Please, don't be so callous." Lex said.

On the World of the Priest:

"Lars! You have to wake up!" Takato Sai said as he tried to shake Lars awake. 

Takato Sai turned his attention to Kid Lars who was walking towards him.

"Hey! Lars! Over here!" Emperor Makoto said.

"The Emperor too?" Tatsumi said.

Takato Sai began unleashing ineffective strikes on Kid Lars. They of course had no effect.

Kid Lars lightly tapped Takato Sai which sent him tumbling across the ground.

Emperor Makoto fired a blast out of his staff which Lars deflected.

"What the? What is this monster?" Emperor Makoto said.

Kid Lars began beating his chest and charged at Takato Sai but just as he about to reach him, an energy blast came between them.

That blast was fired by the good Lars.

"Now he's back?" Akame said.

"You're back..." Takato Sai said.

"You a big meanie! You no pick on Lars' friend!" Lars said.

"I don't believe it... it's really you..." Takato Sai said in tears.

"Tatsumi, shouldn't you be done by now?" Akame said.

"I should be ready." Tatsumi said. "I've had enough time to recover my energy, but I can't hold it. It keeps draining."

"Draining!?" Akame said.

The two Lars' began to fight but the Kid Lars was clearly stronger than the good Lars.
