Chapter 28

As we entered the apartment complex where Lucilia lived, I noticed that both Gaia and Mallory were rather grumpy. I assumed it was because we went out so early in the morning but their subtle glances towards my chest screamed otherwise. Last night was rather peaceful for me and I genuinely felt refreshed right now, but I could already tell it was the opposite for these two. Gaia was frowning as we walked through the hallways whilst Mallory had bags under her eyes, and was evidently unamused. Meanwhile, I was grinning widely between the two of them, secretly enjoying their misery. Teasing them last night gave me a sense of control and I loved it, perhaps I should do it more.

Even though Mallory was back to her emotionless aura, I noticed she was stronger than before. I initially thought her succubus powers didn't activate when we were kissing yesterday as I did not faint and neither did Gaia, but judging by her energy now, she had a lot.

Curious, I decided to ask her, "Mal, did you take our life sources last night? When we were kissing?"

Mallory hummed, "I genuinely do not know. I'm still not quite versed in the succubus half of me."

"She didn't, her powers didn't activate for some reason, or perhaps the kisses weren't stimulating enough. The last time her powers were accidentally activated, Mallory was kissing your neck, I assume the intimacy would have to be at the same level." Gaia answered, yawning after.

"Then how is it possible that Mallory has quite the amount of energy now?"

"Oh, I gave her some of mine when you were sleeping." Gaia replied, running a hand through her wavy hair.

"That makes sense."

The three of us did not say anything more as we entered the elevator together. There were other humans as well, but we paid them no attention. I pressed the button for the seventh floor and waited patiently with my mates. Amethyst was supposed to come with us, for she really wanted to see Angeline again, but Vaye decided against it since she didn't want to let her energetic little mate far from her sight. It would have been a lot easier for us had Amethyst came though, since she had an actual relationship with those two. Meanwhile, I never really got to talk much with Lucilia and Angeline, therefore this was my first time reaching out to them.

Speaking of which, there was someone in here that had an actual relationship with them.. or with one of them and that was Gaia. Before Gaia revealed that I was her mate, she was busy being fucked by Lucilia.. and that was quite irritating, but I couldn't say anything about it as I wasn't any better. Even though I knew I had nothing to worry about since Gaia told me she and Lucilia have cut contact, I still couldn't help but become anxious at the thought of those two meeting again.

I glanced at Gaia and poked her shoulder, making her look at me with a raised brow, "What's wrong?"

"You better behave yourself." I warned her, narrowing my eyes at her in a threatening manner.

Gaia immediately understood where I was coming from and suddenly began patting my head with a soft smile. "Little one, you and Mal are the only ones for me. You do not need to feel threatened by anyone."

"This is Lucilia we're talking about, Lucilia Devon."

"I know, little one, but Lucilia is nothing more than a-"

"Willow?"

When the elevator doors opened, I found myself speechless as my eyes met with the brightest eyes I've ever seen. They were of the color gold, shining, dazzling, and mesmerizing anyone who'd dare to look at them. I was loyal to Gaia and Mallory, but even I couldn't deny that Angeline's beauty was like no other. One could tell she was once an angel by just looking at her appearance. With her pure white hair swaying on her back, and her warm smile welcoming me, it was no question that she became the queen of heaven.
