After the voting time was over, Zadhea went to the dining hall along with Evelyn to have her lunch. When her eyes fell on the rich, fresh, delicious food, the foodie's mouth subconsciously filled with saliva. She found everything appetizing as she quickly grabbed a fork to take a bite of everything on her plate.

However, her joyful moment with food got abruptly interrupted by the unexpected presence of someone nearby.

"May I take this seat?" she heard that very familiar voice ask.

Zadhea recognized who it was. Her body froze in shock at the realization. She wanted to run away and hide in a corner, but she knew it was already too late. She definitely needed to face him now.

Taking a deep breath, she tried to calm herself down before speaking. "Okay."

Zadhea let out a soft sigh of relief when her voice sounded normal. Luckily, she didn't stammer and make a fool of herself.

Heidith gracefully sat next to her. Then he slowly began eating, not planning on striking up a conversation.

Zadhea looked at her own plate, feeling awkward inwardly. She felt like the distance between them stretched further away; like they somehow became acquaintances or, even worse, strangers.

She felt hurt deep down since once upon a time they had made good memories together.

"I didn't expect you to apply for the position of president," Zadhea started, giving up waiting. She badly wanted to break the awkward silence between them.

When Heidith heard that, he paused his actions temporarily, paying his entire attention to her as he furrowed his brows. "Why?" he asked in a low voice. "You think I'm not suitable?" His voice was filled with mockery and a hint of sadness.

Zadhea was taken aback by his question. She swiftly shook her head nonstop, which Heidith found rather cute.

"It's not like that," she helplessly blurted out. "You are the most suitable. I even voted for you..." She quickly covered her mouth when she realized her mistake. Her small face blushed all the way to her neck due to her embarrassment. She felt like vanishing from there.

Evelyn pretended that she didn't hear anything as she kept chewing her pasta.

Heidith smiled warmly. He could feel that warmth spreading across his entire body. It was an indescribable feeling: sweet and cozy. He simply loved it.

At that moment, he realized that he couldn't stay angry with her for long.

To be honest, he missed her.

He missed her so much.

He missed the time they spent together.

He wanted to do it again.

He wanted to stay by her side once again.

"Why did you want to sit next to me?" Zadhea questioned, hoping to change the topic and escape from the embarrassing situation.

Heidith scratched his chin with a playful grin forming on his lips. "Changing the topic, I see... Why, Dhea? Don't tell me... you have a liking towards me?"

Zadhea's eyes grew wide in shock. "Wha-what are you talking about? I voted for you because I thought you could do the duties better than others. I don't have other thoughts. Plus, I won't vote for someone who's not suitable for a certain position, even if that person is my own family," she went on and on, feeling upset and angry.

"I know, I know." Heidith sighed. "I was just teasing you. Don't take it to heart."

"Oh." Feeling ashamed, she pretended to be absentminded and played with her fork.
