"Heidith, let me help you cook, okay?" Zadhea said with a cute pout on her face. "We went to the market to buy stuff together, so why can't we cook together as well? This is unfair!"
Heidith wore an apron, a smirk playing on his lips. He slightly shook his head and picked up a knife, acting as if he didn’t hear her.
"Heidith!" Zadhea stomped her foot like a spoiled child, pretending to be angry. "Okay, I don't need your permission. I'll do it myself."
She grabbed a light blue apron and put it over her dress. Although Zadhea was full of confidence, she struggled to tie the strings, which made her lose her patience as she puffed, annoyance filling her.
"Ugh! This damn apron!"
Heidith paused, cutting the giant fresh cabbage on the counter, and finally paid attention to Zadhea. Even after witnessing how stubborn she was, Heidith still didn't want her help. He calmly opened his mouth to say, "You can watch me cook."
"I don't want to." Zadhea rolled her eyes and turned her head to look at the strings hanging on her back. "Help me tie them."
"Okay." Heidith nodded, not denying her this time.
"Really?!" Zadhea's eyes lit up in delight. She watched him come to her side before standing in front of her, looking down at her with a playful smile on his lips. Zadhea subconsciously frowned as she sensed something was wrong. Before she could figure out what it was, Heidith circled his arms below her butt, picked her up like a child, and placed her on the large dining table near the kitchen counter.
His breath fell on her face as Heidith whispered, "Be obedient, okay?" His voice was dangerously low and husky, making Zadhea gulp. Her stubbornness disappeared into thin air as fear and nervousness clouded her mind. Although she was scared inwardly, she remained calm on the surface; so calm that she seemed completely unaffected by his words.
"Whatever." She shrugged and avoided his eyes. In her mind, she screamed, 'Hey, go away! I can't breathe!'
As if Heidith could hear her thoughts, he eventually distanced himself from her. However, his eyes stayed on her, admiring her beauty. He appeared to be hypnotized by her.
Blinking, Zadhea glanced up to meet his green eyes that reminded her of fresh leaves. She felt like she was drowning in them every time she looked at his eyes. Her moist eyes carried a sparkle as she blurted out, "What are you doing?"
Heidith blinked twice, snapping back to reality. He shook his head and went back to the kitchen counter, not giving her an answer. What could he possibly say? Should he tell her that he was captivated by her beauty? That might sound creepy. He didn’t want to make Zadhea uncomfortable by revealing his true feelings. He would do it gradually, but it wasn’t the right time yet. She wasn’t completely comfortable around him, at least not yet.
Zadhea observed Heidith’s every move, from cutting vegetables to making noodles. His actions were smooth, steady, and filled with unwavering confidence as if he were a professional chef. His handsomeness was the icing on the cake, making him glow even more. His skilled, muscular, strong arms handled the vegetables with care, creating a picturesque sight. Zadhea was now happy she didn’t have to help him. Watching him cook was much better. She felt tempted by him, although he wasn’t trying to seduce her intentionally.
Steam from the noodles hit Heidith's face, and he began sweating. As a result, Heidith naturally removed his apron and unbuttoned the first four buttons of his shirt, momentarily forgetting Zadhea’s presence.
Zadhea squinted as her eyes fell on Heidith's partially revealed chest. She forgot to blink as she kept staring until a mischievous idea struck her.
Jumping off the table, Zadhea quietly closed the door to the kitchen and sneaked towards Heidith without making a sound, like a thief. Standing close to him, she grabbed his collar and pulled him even closer before asking in a low voice, "Are you seducing me? Even the door closed automatically."
