Zadhea opened a large wooden box in the corner of her room and rummaged through her things before taking out a bamboo flute. It was her favorite instrument. She soaked a small cloth with water before using it to clean the dusty flute. After that, she locked her room and went to the lonely flower garden.

Although the flower garden was isolated most of the time, that wasn't the case this time, which was extremely rare. There were couples everywhere since no one was there to keep an eye on them, as the teachers were particularly busy during the winter season.

Zadhea found an empty bench tucked away in a hidden corner of the garden. Sitting down gracefully, she closed her eyes and began to play her flute. With each passing second, the music grew louder and more powerful, its haunting melody spreading through the garden. It silenced everyone, though none realized why.

The notes were achingly sorrowful, and soon, most of the girls and even some boys found themselves in tears, overwhelmed by the music's raw emotion. It pierced their hearts, filling them with a profound sense of loneliness and heartbreak. They felt as if an invisible hammer was hitting their hearts, breaking them into pieces.

Finally, a girl couldn't take it anymore. Breaking down, she screamed, "Stop it! Are you going to break my heart? I was smiling with my boyfriend a moment ago, but now... Aaah, my heart hurts so much!" She clenched her chest painfully.

Others nodded with tears in their eyes. Their silent request was obvious-they wanted Zadhea to stop playing the flute.

"Please," a boy begged. "I want to enjoy this happy moment with my girlfriend. I don't want to cry. I feel like I'm about to lose her forever. Why?" He squeezed his girlfriend's hand, though it failed to soothe his stormy heart. His girlfriend meekly nodded. She was having the same feeling.

Zadhea finally stopped playing the flute as she slowly opened her sorrowful, empty, lonely eyes. She looked around to see red teary eyes. Rising to her feet, she silently left the garden without looking back, squeezing the flute tightly in her hand.

The stable worker was surprised to see Zadhea's arrival at the horse stable, all alone. She was not a regular visitor, so he couldn't help but wonder why she was there all of a sudden.

"Darcel..." Zadhea's eyes fell on the majestic black horse in the front, her loneliness fading a little.

The horse also recognized her, flicking his tail and looking excited.

Zadhea ran to him and hugged his neck, hiding her face in his long mane.

"Phhh." Darcel rubbed his neck against Zadhea's face as if to soothe her.

Zadhea's eyes filled with tears. She quickly wiped them with her sleeve before climbing onto Darcel's back. "Boy, let's go," she whispered in a hoarse voice. "Let's go somewhere far away from here."

The stable groom swallowed his dry saliva. He knew Zadhea was Heidith's fiancée, so he didn't try to stop her from taking Darcel out. He could only watch them leave with a helpless look on his face. Darcel hadn't eaten anything for two days, so he was worried. He didn't find a chance to tell Zadhea about it and started regretting it.

Darcel slowly walked ahead, passing through the main town and eventually reaching a small village. It was already afternoon, but neither of them looked tired. Zadhea had zoned out the entire time, holding onto Darcel's neck, seeking his comfort and warmth, half-lying on his back.

"You bitch!" A village woman yelled, making Zadhea flinch and come back to reality.

"How could you steal my husband?" the woman screamed, slapping another woman as she cried. Her husband, the main culprit, watched the spectacle with other villagers, not stopping his wife from hitting his mistress.
