That night Heidith couldn't sleep peacefully. He tossed and turned all night until early sun rays greeted him through the curtains.

Dragging his tired body towards the bathroom with difficulty, he took a hot shower, soothing his tensed muscles before heading to the dining table situated in the middle of a beautiful red rose garden his mother maintained for years.

"Good morning, dad," He greeted the king with a smile and then turned to his mother. With a poker face, he said, "Morning, your highness." And then bowed to her respectfully totally opposite of his usual self.

On the other hand, the queen was full of smiles. "Very good morning, precious Lovie!"

Heidith was taken aback but he was able to maintain his cold shoulder attitude. Without saying anything, he sat next to his father.

King Foneth was dumbfounded. It had been years since he witnessed his son sitting by his side instead of his mother's.

When Heidith was three to seven or eight years old, he always sat next to his father. He was glued to his father like a koala. Indeed he loved his mother but his favourite person was always his father whom he considered as a hero.

But as time passed, Heidith grew closer to his mother and maintained an honourable kind of relationship with his father. He got along with his mother the most like they were buddies. Gradually she became his favourite. He was turned to a mommy's boy! He always took her side.

King Foneth knew the reason behind his change. Heidith didn't like to practise skills so hard every day. As a responsible father and a king, Foneth became strict to him and didn't show any laxity. As a result, Heidith chose his mother who spoiled him and soothed him unconditionally.

Heidith even dared to say that he was blind not to spend more time with his mother in the past, angering and upsetting his father. However, thinking about his future, King Foneth made up his mind to continue being strict.

If one parent was easy-going and friendly, other one should be strict in order not to spoil the kids. Hence, unwillingly or willingly, Foneth decided to take over the strict parent's character.

Today was an exception.

"Dad, did you sleep well last night?" Heidith started a conversation while putting a pancake on his plate.

Foneth looked at him sideways, sighed and said, "Kinda."

It was tiresome and lonely. He always slept with his wife but thinking of his unborn child, he decided to go to his chamber instead. It was purely a torture to him. He couldn't get a blink of sleep.

Ezra shook her head. "You don't have to force yourself. You can come sleep with me as usual. I'm not a fragile glass or something."

"But what if I hurt the baby?" The king wasn't convinced.

"Alas, honey! He won't feel any pain, trust me!"

Heidith sneered at that time, interrupting the couple's lovey-dovey moment.

"How can you be so careless, your highness? How can you guarantee that he won't feel pain?"

"You..!" Ezra hit her forehead in frustration. "I just know. If you don't believe me, do ask the physician. He will explain clearly. You think I won't investigate this matter before saying things? I learnt them all eighteen years ago. I can still remember everything."

Heidith lowered his head guiltily. "I trust you, mom."

"Darling," The queen turned to her husband. "If you have done eating, can you leave us for a while? You have things to do as well, right? So... Can you?" She looked at him with puppy eyes.
