"How did you get a horse? Did you steal him?" Zadhea exclaimed when she saw Heidith returning with a dark brown horse not long after. She waited for him to get close as she got down from Darcel's back.
Heidith raised a brow at her words as he made the horse stand next to Darcel. "It's a girl. And no, I never steal. A friend agreed to give Shelvie to me."
Zadhea took a curious look at the horse. Although she didn't appear as majestic as Darcel, she had her own beauty. Her straight hair was shortened and styled appropriately. Her legs had black spots that added to her beauty.
"A friend?" Zadhea sighed sadly. "You have so many friends. As for me, I can count my friends with ten fingers. I'm envious of you." She pouted.
Heidith laughed, shaking his head. After doing so, he realized his mistake and rushed to soothe her. "Don't worry. You're still new here, aren't you? You'll make more friends in the future."
"Thanks. That's consoling." Zadhea gave him a small smile. Suddenly, she remembered something and turned to face him, asking, "How do I look today?"
When Zadhea saw him looking at her carefully, she blinked and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear as she shyly looked away.
Heidith took a deep look at her. Under the sunlight, her beautiful, long hair, ocean-blue eyes, and skin were glowing like stars in a dark sky. She looked like a cute porcelain doll. Alluring and seductive, she looked like an angel descended from heaven.
Simply, a beautiful but not so innocent girl that managed to steal his heart.
"As usual," Heidith replied truthfully.
By saying that, he meant she was as beautiful as ever. However, Zadhea misunderstood his words and became angry and upset. She thanked him insincerely and hopped on Darcel's back. "It's getting late. Let's go."
Heidith could see that she was agitated. But he couldn't understand why.
"Did I do something wrong? Why do you look grumpy, Dhea?"
Zadhea rolled her eyes at his questions while keeping her silence, not wanting to talk to him any further.
Heidith felt like his brain was about to explode. He wished Stella was there so he could ask for advice. Truly, women are complicated creatures. Reading their minds is something impossible.
As Heidith racked his brain for a solution, his eyes suddenly paused on something unusual.
It was Zadhea's hair!
Why didn't he notice it before?
"You... You let down your hair!" His eyes lit up in delight as Heidith exclaimed. "It has grown. Last time it only reached your waist but now..." He gulped the remaining part of his sentence when he realized that he became too talkative. "Pretty." His face flushed as he lowered his head.
Zadhea wanted to laugh out loud. He was just so adorable to handle. On purpose, she teased him with a wink, "Seems like you like me."
Heidith looked up at her in the eyes.
Zadhea got mesmerized by his green eyes. They looked like two gems under the sunlight. They were sparkling, no, more like burning. She felt tense for no reason. She felt as if he wanted to eat her alive. She wondered how he could make her restless with just his eyes.
"Get down," he whispered, making her even more nervous.
'Why should I be scared of him? I'm a strong girl,' Zadhea thought before climbing down from Darcel's back, pretending to be confident.
As Zadhea stood in front of him, Heidith slowly stepped close to her, making her heart race. Then he towered over her with his height. He was a tall guy. Although Zadhea was also a tall girl, she could only reach his chin.
