Zadhea rolled her eyes and tried to walk away when Heidith grabbed her wrist and prevented her from leaving.

"I'm sorry," he breathed out. "I was just joking. No offense."

"So what were you doing if it’s not spying?" Zadhea crossed her arms over her chest, giving him a sharp look that said, 'I don't believe you at all.'

Heidith awkwardly touched the back of his head as he said, "Although it's not intentional, I do have to agree with something."

"Hmm?" She gave him a look that showed suspicion as she let him continue.

"I... Um... I followed you here."

"Cool." Zadhea became so angry that she didn't want to spend another second with him.

What kind of fiancé was he? How could he doubt literally every man that approached her? Moreover, it was like he never trusted her. Not even once.

She didn't want to be with such a person. It was simply disgusting and it was pissing her off.

"No, listen to me." Heidith let out a helpless sigh as he rushed to clarify, "I just wanted to talk to you. But you were busy with something. When you left the dormitories, I decided to follow you only due to my impatience. I'm sorry if it made you feel upset."

Zadhea was still angry although her gaze somehow softened. "Then you don't think Michael is my secret lover?"

"Michael?" Heidith raised a brow at her question.

"The person who met me here a moment ago."

"Oh." He nodded. "I don't think he's a secret lover. You don't need to have a secret lover when you have someone as handsome as me." He raised his chin proudly.

"How come you became so cocky? Did Derek do this to you?" Zadhea asked, widening her eyes.

Although she didn't know much about Derek since they weren't close, she knew what kind of person he was.

If you ask what's the definition of narcissism, it’d be Derek undoubtedly.

A grin spread across Heidith's face as he shook his head. "It's not Derek. I've always been like this. I just hid it from you. You can say..." He paused and scratched his chin as if to evoke her curiosity.

"It's one of my dark secrets?"

Zadhea raised a brow, becoming curious as he thought. "You have dark secrets?"

She felt like she couldn't believe it because Heidith didn't look like a person with two faces. It was simply... odd.

He chuckled. "Nah. I'm joking. I'm an open book. A thin one."

"Wow, great." Zadhea nodded with a thumbs up, her lips holding a smile that didn’t look like a smile.

"I'm going now." She turned around to leave. 'He's acting weird all of a sudden. Better to escape to my room.'

"But you still didn't tell me who this Michael guy is. Maybe he's one of your knights?" Heidith questioned, once again stopping her.

Zadhea turned to face him before explaining everything. "I don't want a teacher for the time being. I can practice on my own."

She thought he would agree with her decision. But to her disappointment, Heidith actually disagreed.

"Aren't you a royal princess? It's good to have faith in your skills. I'm also confident in my capabilities. But Zadhea, you do know that I have three knights who protect me all day. On the other hand, you have none. It's fine if you don't want him as your teacher. But you should have let him stay by your side to protect you. We have lots of enemies, remember?"
