When the lover boy saw Heidith lying on the ground motionlessly, arrogance took the better of him as he prodded his back using his toe, asking, "You dead?" His low voice was mixed with both sarcasm and pride.
Just as he was about to turn around and deal with Zadhea, he heard someone's low chuckle that stood out prominently from his gang's painful crying sounds.
Heidith sat up, straightening his back. A smirk played on his lips as he wiped the wet blood from the corner of his mouth. "That's all?" He ridiculed, tilting his head at the gangster.
His mocking smile made the lover boy's blood boil. Clenching his hands, he shouted, "Bastard, I won't leave you alone."
In reply, Heidith just kept smiling.
The gangster boy wanted nothing but to wipe the grin off his face. Hoping to attack Heidith's face for the second time, he raised the iron rod again.
Before he could hit him, Heidith gave a side kick on the back of his knees, forcing the gangster to fall on the ground into a kneeling position before him.
With difficulty, Heidith slowly stood up from the rough ground before looking down at the lusty boy with eyes that showed pure disgust.
The gang instantly stopped crying, dwelling in fear when they witnessed their leader's defeat.
"This way, officers." Zadhea's voice echoed through the newly silent place as sounds of boots followed it.
The ten soldiers who came with her arrested the gangsters. They thanked Heidith for his bravery and asked both him and Zadhea to go with them to provide evidence against them.
Heidith glanced at Zadhea. She also looked up at him before nodding. "We don't have much time anyway," She whispered.
Heidith nodded back. Then he removed his silver necklace from his neck and raised it in the air, letting everyone around him see what it was.
When the soldiers and the criminals realized its identity, their eyes widened in shock. Without wasting another second, they quickly knelt on the ground, lowering their heads as they chanted, "Your highness."The gangsters felt their bodies weakening.
The gangster boy couldn't believe his eyes. He almost peed in his pants. He even forgot to kneel. His friend was the one who pulled his arm, making his face almost kiss the ground. "Y-your high.. highness," He stuttered as cold sweat popped on his forehead and flowed down to his cheeks.
Heidith waved his hands. "Take them away," He commanded the soldiers coldly. "Punish them without caring about their ages."
No matter how much young a criminal is, a crime is a crime. Nothing else.
"Aye, yes, your highness," The soldiers kept kneeling.
"Go!" Heidith roared, making everyone flinch.
"Have mercy on us, your highness," Although the gangster boys cried and begged, they couldn't move Heidith's heart as they helplessly let the soldiers drag them away.
"Heidith, are you okay?" Zadhea asked in a low voice. Honestly, she was also scared. It was her first time seeing Heidith so angry like that. He was furious!
Heidith rolled his eyes. "Go away."
"No, Heidith. I can't. Don't get mad at me, okay?" Zadhea gently held his arm.
"Go away, Zadhea." Heidith threw her hand away.
Zadhea pursed her lips. "I'm sorry." She looked at him pitifully. "It was boring without you. I was yawning."
