Zadhea's cheeks reddened as she realized how seductive his voice sounded when he said that. It was like pouring honey into her ears. However, she hid her expressions well and raised her chin high, turning arrogant as she blurted out, "No. I'll ride on your horse, ALONE." She emphasized the word "alone."

Heidith blinked at the unexpected request—no, more like a command. He then wore a troubled expression.

Darcel, his horse, wasn't an ordinary horse. He was extremely loyal to Heidith. Whenever someone else tried to jump on his back, he would always throw that person to the ground, even if that person was Derek, Heidith's best friend. For example, one day, Derek got drunk and mistook Darcel for his own horse. Needless to say what happened afterward.

Derek couldn't leave his bed for an entire week!

"You sure?" Heidith breathed out.

Zadhea nodded firmly. "Yeah."

"Okay." He nodded back.

Heidith explained the situation to his friends and let them depart first, promising to catch up with the carriage later.

After they left, he turned to Zadhea, saying, "Come with me." His expression looked dead serious.

Zadhea couldn't understand why, but she felt like something was wrong.

"Anything wrong?" She looked at Heidith's back as she asked.

Heidith paused for a second, almost making her nose bump into his back. "Nah." Then he continued to walk.

As they went inside the stable, Zadhea's eyes fell directly on the majestic black horse that looked like the night sky itself. His dazzling, silky skin and thick tail, which was thicker and straighter than an average girl's black hair, added to his beauty. He also had muscles that looked like a piece of art. Simply, Darcel was the most beautiful and majestic horse Zadhea had ever seen.

"Wow!" She unconsciously blurted out.

Heidith chuckled at her stunned look. "I know my Darcel is the best," he stated with pride.

Zadhea rolled her eyes but didn't try to deny it. She then took a few courageous steps towards the black horse until Heidith stopped her by urgently holding her wrist.

"Stop! He's dangerous," he warned, feeling anxious.

Zadhea snorted coldly. Her eyes sparkled with arrogance. "Duh. Lemme go. I'm telling you... Not even a horse can resist my charms."

When Heidith heard that, he gave Zadhea a bewildered look. "What are you talking about? This is an animal above everything, princess. Try to understand." He couldn't believe someone could be so foolish and arrogant.

Heidith hid his emotions and continued, "Do as I say if you don't wanna die early."

"So what?" Zadhea shook his hand off her wrist. "Just watch me become the protagonist." She gave him a playful wink.

Heidith shook his head but this time he didn't try to stop her. He had already warned her, so he could do nothing about her bringing trouble upon herself. He could only watch what would happen just like she told him to.

Zadhea took a handful of sugar from a bottle that was on an old wooden rack. Then she carefully approached her target. Although she looked cool on the surface, she was nervous inwardly, and her mind scolded her nonstop.
