"If he were your husband, why did he try to leave this place without you?" Emma's cousin's granddaughter Michelle asked the man's wife, as suspicion clouded her mind. She checked the woman's outfit. Although she didn't look poor, she wasn't that rich either. Her dress was decent, but it lacked elegance. Her shoes were okay too, but they weren't the type noble ladies usually chose to wear. Although Michelle was a village woman, she knew many things about upper-class society. In her opinion, this woman belonged to the middle class at most.

"He had an emergency. I wanted to go to the washroom, so I asked him to leave first," the woman explained in an irritated voice as her face darkened. "Why are you questioning me? The culprit here is obviously your sister." She pointed her chin at Zadhea, giving her a fierce look. "Ask her why she hit my husband like a possessed demon!"

Zadhea's eyes turned red, and her body began shaking violently. "Enough!" she roared, covering her ears. She'd had enough drama already. She just hoped for a little peace of mind, but no one around her would let her live in peace.

When others heard her, they stared at her as if she were a murderer. It doubled Zadhea's stress. She felt as if she were left alone in this big world. She thought there was no one beside her to support her. Helplessness embraced her, pushing her into the depths of an abyss.

She felt so lonely. Her world turned completely dark. She felt useless and worthless. She felt like she had been abandoned. She had nowhere to go. No one offered her a shoulder to comfort her. No one was there to heal her messy, wounded, bleeding heart.

Heidith's face appeared in her mind. He deceived her with his fake actions and caused her the worst pain ever.

He was the main villain in her story!

He was such a good actor!

Actual villains and villainesses were a hundred times better than him.

"Wait. My money! It's vanished!" the rich middle-aged lady suddenly screamed loudly, dragging the drama forward. Not only the workers but also the customers paid their entire attention to this drama, as it wasn't something their usual boring lives would let them witness. Hence, it wasn't surprising that no one touched their food.

However, Zadhea was not in the mood to care about the drama anymore. She felt her body lightening, and just as she was about to collapse, someone pulled her into a tight hug, stroking her back tenderly.

"My darling girl, don't think too much about it, okay? Let's leave." It was Michelle, her companion. Her voice was filled with kindness, and her eyes shone with care like a gentle mother. Of course, she was indeed a mother to a small child.

'Look at me!' Zadhea mocked herself in her mind. 'I separated a mother from her child. Am I not a villain myself?' Her eyes teared up. 'I don't deserve her kindness.'

Zadhea tried to pull herself away from Michelle's embrace, saying, "I don't deserve your kindness."

"What are you talking about?" Michelle tightened her grip on her. "You gave us a massive fortune for this favor. I'm grateful for that, and I can't express my gratitude with words. To be honest, I don't deserve to be here with you. I'm not qualified enough. Still, you chose me..."

"But your son..." Zadhea bit her lower lip in shame and regret.

"My husband will take good care of him. Trust me, he will. And my son still has his beloved grandma nearby. So, there's nothing to worry about."

After saying those words, Michelle carefully watched the quiet girl in her arms for some time. Her heart ached to see her nonstop tears. "There, there, don't cry anymore, okay? I don't even know why you're crying, but don't cry, okay?"
