"Wow. I'm crying." Evelyn felt like a mother proud of her grown-up, beautiful daughter. "Your hair has grown a lot. Now it even touches your calves."
Zadhea giggled at her words joyously. Contrary to what she felt, she remarked in an annoyed tone, "Really? I think I need a haircut then. It's annoying, although I tie it into a bun most of the time. I'd be dead by now if I didn't do that."
Evelyn gasped in shock. "Haircut? No way! Please keep it! Please... It's so beautiful! Don't cut your hair, please!"
Zadhea laughed, shaking her head. "I was joking. Don't worry, I won't do that." She side-hugged Evelyn to console her even more. "I also love my hair."
"Good to hear." Evelyn let out a sigh, feeling relieved. "But I can't understand something... Why do you want to wear it loose all of a sudden? It's not like you. And, why did you hide your beautiful hair from us all this time?"
Zadhea coughed at her words. "N-nothing. I didn't hide anything. It's just... A hair bun is more convenient, you know. But I thought of a change. You know, changing style once in a while..."
Evelyn looked at her suspiciously. "Okay? But you don't have to explain things that much. Maybe... Are you hiding something from me?"
Zadhea gulped. "It's nothing."
"Hmm, whatever." Evelyn added a small white clip in the middle of Zadhea's red hair before clapping her hands. "It's done. What do I need to do now?"
Zadhea pointed at her face. "Makeup. Make me ugly. Not that ugly. But not beautiful either."
Evelyn raised an eyebrow. "Huh? You mean I have to hide your beauty?"
Zadhea clicked her tongue. "That's right."
"But why?"
"So many questions."
"Okay, okay. I'll just do as you say, weirdo."
Evelyn looked at the dress Zadhea was wearing. Needless to say, it wasn't beautiful. Even the colors had almost faded away. Ugly makeup, average—or more like a poor—dress, hair down... Evelyn had no idea what she was up to.
Maybe she was going on a secret mission again?
The previous night, Heidith had asked Zadhea to dress like a commoner. When she asked for the reason, he said it was a surprise. Although she could dress normally, it wouldn't stop people from looking at her because of her beauty. Hence, Zadhea thought of applying makeup to hide her pretty face.
"By the way, Zadie..." Evelyn started as she prepared the necessary stuff. "What are your standards for a man?"
Zadhea raised a brow at her question. "Why all of a sudden?"
"Tsk, I'm just curious."
It was the first time someone had asked her a question like that. Thus, Zadhea thought about it carefully and answered truthfully, "I have high standards. You sure you want to know?"
"Yes." Evelyn became excited.
"Okay." Zadhea straightened her back, becoming serious. "First of all, I want to make something clear. I'll never look for a man..."
"What?" Evelyn gasped in shock. Was she into women then?
No wonder she didn't date anyone in highschool. Maybe she was embarrassed of being lesbian.
"... Let me finish. I won't look for a man. I'll look for a husband. It's two different things. I don't want to waste my time dating random people. If I ever date someone from the bottom of my heart, he is THE ONE."
