Zadhea tightened her grip on Nishella's waist and lowered her head to watch the scenery below. The villages, towns, rivers, and buildings looked so small from up there. Within a very short time, they reached the ocean that seemed never-ending. That was when Zadhea realized she was leaving Hensovenia, the country where her academy was located.
Finally, she could no longer stay quiet.
"Where are we going?" she questioned in a low, slightly wavering voice, breaking the long, deep silence between them.
"To one of my mansions," Nishella replied in a casual tone. She waited for Zadhea's reaction, only to realize she had become silent again. Hoping to strike up a conversation, she cleared her throat and asked, "By the way... how did you figure out that I want to use you to take revenge on someone? It's pretty impressive, actually."
Zadhea took a moment to gather her thoughts. At first, it seemed like she didn’t want to answer Nishella's question. To be honest, she was hurt by it, but she still wanted to give an answer. The problem was, she found it hard to say the right words.
Becoming impatient, Nishella opened her mouth to say, 'Forget it.' However, before she could speak, Zadhea said, "Dewinn is a wizard too. He used me to take revenge on Prince Heidith, though it didn't succeed."
"Interesting." Nishella scratched her cheek. "What did that prince do?"
"He didn't do anything. Dewinn lied to me, deceiving me so I’d definitely help him. All he wanted was to take the Rodwef throne using me." Zadhea's voice sounded hurt. In fact, she was indeed sad because the people close to her were the ones to break her trust too. First Dewinn and now Heidith. She could move on from Dewinn's betrayal. Unfortunately, it wasn't the same when it came to Heidith. She trusted him blindly and now it was very difficult for her to forget everything and move on with her life; especially when she was engaged to him.
Zadhea's words made Nishella smile. "Really? Hmm. That means he's a liar, unlike me. Let me tell you, I'm very honest. I don't like to deceive people." She puffed her chest proudly. "A good witch, hee hee."
"Wow!" Zadhea exclaimed, becoming excited and more comfortable. "Then can you answer my questions honestly?"
Nishella glanced behind her to look at Zadhea, wrinkling her forehead. Clearly, she wasn’t too happy to hear that. "What is it?"
Zadhea thought it through before opening her mouth, "Whom do you want to take revenge on?"
Nishella hesitated for a second, pondering whether she should answer or not. In the end, she let out a sigh and replied, "Heidith."
Her words shocked Zadhea. She didn’t expect such an answer. "Heidith? But why?"
He was a good person! Although he cheated on her with Stella, Zadhea couldn't ignore the fact that he was a kind, well mannered, dutiful person.
"Sorry. I refuse to answer that," Nishella said curtly.
"Oh please..." Zadhea begged her with puppy eyes, though Nishella couldn't see her face. "I want to hate Heidith. If you aren’t lying, maybe your reason will help me hate him. Perhaps, I can even help you take revenge. I really want to kill him now. So please..."
Perhaps Heidith was wearing a mask in front of her all this time. He was just like Dewinn, pretending to be a gentleman. Zadhea now strongly desired to find out the reason for Nishella's hatred for him because she wanted to remove his fake mask. She wanted to convince her heart that Heidith wasn't a good person as he appeared to be.
Nishella chuckled. "You’re lying, Zadhea. You won’t kill him."
Zadhea blinked and looked away. Deep down, she knew Nishella was right. Whether he cheated on her or not, she would never be able to kill him. She couldn’t bring herself to do such a thing.
