Although he started running like a bullet, Heidith's strength soon left his body as he fell to the ground, hitting his chin hard on the rough surface of a large rock.

"Ugh!" He growled as his eyebrows furrowed and his forehead wrinkled in pain.

"Are you blind?" Zadhea shouted in frustration. She quickly helped him to his feet. "Can't you see the giant rock right in front of you? Why are you in a rush? She's not even following us. Why are you so careless like this?"

Heidith lowered his eyes like a small child who was guilty of a misdeed. "I'm sorry," he mumbled in a weak voice. "But we have to keep going."

Zadhea rolled her eyes. When Heidith looked at her with an innocent expression, her demeanor softened dramatically. "Fine!" she blurted out with a faint sigh. "But no more running."

Heidith agreed to her condition without hesitation. He knew that she didn't want him to get hurt again and he didn't want to make her worry about him. "Okay, Dhea." He grinned innocently.

Zadhea could only shake her head. After committing such acts, he was acting all innocent!

"Why here?" Zadhea asked when they reached the same clothing shop where they had been a moment ago to buy a shirt for Heidith. "Do you want to change your pink shirt for a different one?"

Heidith shrugged. He didn't try to explain things to her as he directly entered the shop.

"Greetings. How can I help you?" The shop owner looked at Heidith unenthusiastically, assuming he was there to change his pink shirt. "You look cute, lad. No need to change it," he finally added, hoping Heidith would change his mind.

Heidith swallowed dry saliva. He didn't really like being called cute. To be precise, he hated it when someone said that or even showed such expressions.

"I'm not here for that," he said with a poker face. "I want the most expensive dress you've mentioned before."

The owner's eyes lit up instantly. Flashing a bright smile brighter than the sun, he rubbed his palms together, nodding his head like a puppet on a string. "Of course, sir. Which size may I ask?" He looked at Zadhea from head to toe, making her uncomfortable as she hid behind Heidith, feeling mad and upset at both of them inwardly.

"Not for her." Heidith's expression grew darker and colder.

He wanted to yell at the middle-aged man, saying, 'Don't look at her like that, you insolent baldie!' However, he managed to keep his calm demeanor by taking a deep breath.

"Largest size, please."

"Oh, okay." The shop guy gave Zadhea another odd look.

Zadhea felt so embarrassed that she wished the ground would swallow her entirely.

Heidith didn't speak again as he silently paid for the dress and walked out of the shop like a calm gentleman.

Zadhea followed him, walking and running at the same time to catch up with his long strides. "Heidith, slow down!" she yelled in the end.

Heidith slowed his pace.

"You look angry?" Zadhea forgot her own anger when she witnessed Heidith's state.

"Yeah." He exhaled a heavy breath. "My patience was at its limit. The way he looked at you...!" He clenched his fists.

"Maybe he didn't mean it that way." Zadhea patted his back. "But why did you buy the largest size for me?"

Heidith raised a brow. "Who said it's for you?"

Zadhea's face fell like a moon obscured by dark clouds.
