Zadhea didn't want to lie to him. She slightly shook her head, answering, "It's for a patient."
"A patient?" Cyrus scratched behind his ear before widening his eyes as realization hit him. "But..." He looked at the half-empty apple pie, his face clouded with guilt.
The others felt the same as they silently lowered their eyes.
Cyrus mumbled, "We're sorry, Zadie."
Zadhea shook her head with a smile. "Someone else brought him food just now." She felt her heart grow heavy as she added, "He doesn't need mine anymore."
"The person who brought him food... Is it Stella?" Sully asked doubtfully.
Zadhea nodded.
Sully's eyes lit up as he understood the reason for Zadhea's sadness. It meant she was jealous of Stella bringing food for that guy. She probably liked him.
"Who's this person?" he asked again.
Zadhea bit her bottom lip. She found it difficult to answer his question. "My fiancé," she replied in a weak voice. "Heidith."
"Heidith? The school president? I see..." Sully nodded his head half-heartedly. "Is it a political engagement?"
Zadhea shrugged. "What else?"
"Zadie, listen." Sully looked directly into her eyes, wearing a serious look on his face. "No matter what, you have to believe in yourself. You have to believe in the people who genuinely love you. Everything will be fine in the end."
"I hope so too," she breathed out with a bitter smile, feeling a little surprised at his sudden advice.
After that, both of them became silent.
Sully realized that she didn't want to share her worries with him. Hence, he didn't plan to keep pestering her by asking questions.
Without waiting for the boys to finish her food, Zadhea turned on her heels and left the place with slow strides, even forgetting to say goodbye.
Sully took a sip of the vegetable soup. It was a bit salty. When he tasted the apple pie earlier, he felt it was too sweet. "Why did you lie?" he asked his friends after checking.
Brownie replied, "We didn't want to hurt her feelings. After all, it's the thought that counts." He took a bite of the apple pie. "Besides, I love sweet stuff."
Apollo nodded as he drank the soup. "We could feel her sadness. So as her friends, we had to make her happy again." He added, "And salty things are weirdly good."
"Salty or sugary, this is the best for me," Cyrus chimed in, agreeing with the others.
Sully looked at them with a smile. "That's why you're my friends."
Nevertheless, his smile dissipated as he thought, 'She knows how to cook. Something is definitely troubling her.' He sighed and shook his head, putting those thoughts aside for the time being. "Let's go practice again."
"What about Zadhea?" Brownie questioned.
Sully looked in the direction where she had disappeared.
"Let her be, at least for now."
They reluctantly agreed.

Stella put the food on the bedside table before glancing at Heidith's sleeping figure with a tender look on her face. Whenever he slept, he looked like an angel. It wasn't her first time seeing him sleep so peacefully. She wanted to keep looking at him for a long time. However, she was afraid, thinking he was hungry. Thus, she slowly stepped beside him before gently touching his shoulder.
