Your face was as expressionless as it can get as Alex excitedly handed the five ice creams he treated you. You can barely hold it so he took the liberty to hold four while you open the first one you're going to eat. Honestly five ice creams were a bit too much but he still bought either ways, practically grabbing all the ice creams his hand can hold and shoving it into the cashier.

Of course the cashier was shocked but she didn't question it since there were four of you, the fifth ice cream must be for someone who didn't come along.

Speaking of four, what happened to Leon and Jeremy along with their grand argument on who will treat you? Well, you ended it by taking the chance fate have given you the moment it arrived, even if it arrived in the form of Alex.

You just sighed as you're being squished between the ever silent Jeremy and Leon, luckily they're not glaring at each other anymore because their glare is now directed to the humming Alex. You have to give it to him, he sure can act so unbothered when wanted to, how can he hop and laugh when there's two tall boys glaring at the back of his head?

“You know Y/n, I'm glad you chose me in treating you!” He laughed, putting his arm over your shoulder, he even had the audacity to look back and give the already seething boys a wink. You just laughed nervously, you're sure that everything had became more complicated.

“It's no problem, thanks for treating me.” You took a lick of your ice cream and just let Alex lead wherever he wanted, hopefully not somewhere the Alderich siblings currently are.

“Hehehe, just hearing your voice makes me happy. Gosh.” Alex became a mush next to you, leaning his weight towards you causing you to stumble for a bit until Leon placed a steadying hand on your shoulder. You swear he had pinched Alex’s hand.

But Alex just smiled at him and pulled you away, even casually swatting Leon’s hand. Hah, you're getting dragged around. It's like Christina and Theo once again, getting pulled by two little kids who like the same teddy bear.

“What a feeler.” You hear Jeremy mumble underneath his breath with Leon nodding. The two had become allies when faced with one common enemy.

And that enemy is more than happy in teasing the hell out of them.

“What in the blazes am I looking at?” Christina was rendered into a statue the moment she saw you surrounded by men. The sloth Leon, the infuriating Jeremy and the despised Alex, why are they here stealing you away from her? Especially Alex who's practically half hugging you right now, that can't be.

“Wow, such profound language Christina!” Alex spoke with a feigned shocked look. This time it's not only two glares directed to him, but three. You're curious as to why he's even still alive.

“I'm not talking to you!” Christina seethed, pointing at him. She looked quite scary, angry even. Thankfully Theo is not with her, you cannot imagine what will happen if he is.

“But I am!” Alex didn't seem to care though, donning that smug smile of his. You sent him a look but he just smiled at you.

“Shut it.” Christina said.

“Nuh-uh” He simply shook his head.

“Why this guy-” Christina was provoked, as if her supposed ‘cool-headedness’ didn't exist in the first place. She outstretched her hand, ready to grab Alex away from you. She didn't like the fact that this clingy human had taken her place beside you, she's the only person who can hug you like that.

“Oh boohoo Y/n! Your best friend is going to hurt me! What a violent woman! Save me!” But before she can reach him, Alex immediately hides behind your back and hugs you tight with his own two arms, not minding the ice creams that he's holding.

“Alex let go of her-” Jeremy said this time.

“No, I like it here. Besides I bought her ice cream, I can hug her all I want.” Alex, ever the stubborn person.

“What kind of logic is that-” Leon the logical interjected.

“Guys. Stop.” You sighed, pulling yourself away from Alex’s embrace that seemed to be the reason why everyone was arguing in the first place. The constant fighting gave you a headache, you just can't catch a break.

With the way your voice sounds so exasperated, everyone stopped from arguing and actually settled down, except from the silent glares they all still gave the Blond.

But the silence is enough for you.

You faced Christina to explain what's going on, well actually lie what's going on. You don't have the heart to tell her that you actually escaped away from them for some fresh air. Maybe one day, you'd hate her enough to tell her hurtful yet truthful words. After all, she's your friend and the reason why you're in this novel, you just can't forget that.

“I was going to the gym because a teacher needed my help. Then I met Leon who offered that we go to the cafeteria, then we saw Jeremy, then Alex saw us too and offered to treat me.”

“So much happened just because you went to the bathroom. I should've had come with you.” Christina spoke, a frown on her face. She regretted not going with you, but the fact she did really heed your words of not going with you to the bathroom told you that she at least still have bounderies etched into her mind.

Though that might be changing already with the way she spoke her last sentence.

“What got your panties in a twist, it's not like she had gone missing.” Alex said, this time his teasing eased enough to show the indignant look in his face. He noticed the look on your face and he didn't like it. Something weird is going on.

Shocked with the way Alex’s voice lacked his usual sing-song tone, you looked at him. Things are going too fast for your mind.

“You know what, I think it's better if Y/n takes a break from both you and Theo,” Alex said, “You've been occupying her too much that she didn't even have time for me or anyone else.”

“You can't decide that.” Christina said with a glare.

“But neither can you.”
