41: Reviving Dracula?

"So... our little brother grew up a fine hunter." Trevor mumbles as they're looking at a painting in the museum "Guess so, I still can't believe we did that though, when did we get reckless?" Ruby asks while running a hand through her hair "When we learned mom was pregnant with a kid." is the quiet answer, resulting in a silence. "Can I help you two? You've been staring at that painting a long time." a guide says, but Trevor shakes his head "We're just admiring the details." "Last known Belmont to hunt down Dracula and kill him. Some claim they stopped hunting afterwards.", Ruby smiles slightly at that, yes, her little brother 'killed' Dracula, more like put him to sleep for three years and brought home the skull of another vampire "Belmonts will never stop hunting dangerous creatures of the night." Trevor comments "Right little sis?" "Right, speaking off, wonder when people are gonna try to sacrifice some poor soul to revive Dracula." Ruby says while following her older brother, hand on a dagger in her pocket.

Their trip, thankfully remains uneventful, despite the fact someone's stalking them "Lycan or witch?" Ruby whispers "Witch, Lycan wouldn't come this close." Trevor replies quietly, that's true. Ruby calls Lisa and she rolls her eyes "It's that time again." "Oh dear, wonder what they'll do next, last time they tried sacrificing me!" "I think I know," Trevor tells Lisa "I'd pray for whoever does the kidnapping." "Smart." is the reply "Let's just... play along." Ruby tells them "Yeah, good luck today with your job interview Trevor, you with the mission Ruby." Lisa says before ending the call.

It happened, every once in a hundred years or less the same group would try to bring Dracula back by bringing an offering to the castle, they've played along, for now, but they were getting bolder with who they took, last time it was Lisa, before that Sypha and the times before that some random people. This time Adrian's the one to call Ruby, in her mission "They took Rose." "I really wouldn't-" "They trashed our house." "I will come straight home when I can.". The others go with her and it's indeed a mess "Bolder and more stupid." Ruby mumbles before she whistles "Follow her scent." she tells the overgrown dog "We'll help clean up here." Bruce promises Ruby, getting a thumbs up before she's gone.

"Really, taking my grandkid as an offering?" Dracula mumbles with a sigh, he's looking at the group with a very disappointed look "Grandkid?" one of them asks, but before he can get an answer the door is thrown open "Give me back my kid! Hey mom, hi dad." Ruby says, greeting her parents before drawing her sword "So apparently they didn't like that I kept calling it a field trip," Rose explains with a pout "but I haven't seen grandpa in a few years, so I was excited." "We need the kid to get-" the poor guy can't finish when Carmilla kills him while Gabriel says "If you so much as harm one hair on her head we will wipe out your entire organisation!" "When did they start getting along?" Ruby asks Lisa, who shrugs "I mean, they both adore Rose and I imagine neither wants to get beheaded." "You will never find our location!" "Nat, got something?" Ruby asks after calling her best friend "Yeah, sending you the location now." Natasha confirms "Tell Rose I said hi." "Will do, see you later.".

When Ruby arrives at the location with Vlad she cracks her knuckles "Didn't they ever question it that they didn't have to wake you up?" she asks, earning a shrug "No, they just assumed I was weak." Vlad explains, the cult member there almost throw themselves on the ground to worship Dracula, but he just creates a lava ball "I've come to bring an end to this mess." "B-but we just-" "If you wanted Dracula back you could've asked for a demonstration." Ruby deadpans as she moves to the side "Which you will get right now." "No please-", the lava ball is released and the place is just a crater afterwards "Some fled." Ruby points out, earning a chuckle "I doubt they'd try to offer someone to me again.", Vlad wants to leave, but Ruby picks up something weird in the crater, so she walks over and clears the stones to find a tunnel "Hey Vlad! Check this out!" she calls over, so he walks over "In we go then and hope that's not what I think it is." he mumbles.

The tunnels ends in a rather big room and they hear crying and sobbing behind the objects "No signal, can't call for backup." Ruby says, putting her phone away, she manages to push the pillar aside with Vlad's help, so she can see the origin of the crying "Vampire kids." Vlad mumbles as he inspects the group "Hey kids, I advise you to move away from the door." Ruby advises the children, who move back in fear, so she kicks it open "Ten kids, seven unharmed, three injured including one that lost an arm." she sums up "You don't think these guys are the same as the ones wanting vampire blood right?" Vlad asks, earning a shrug "I learned a spell to teleport, but I'd need chalk, or blood." "We have chalk, here." a boy says, handing Ruby some chalk pieces.

When the circle's finished she says a few words so it lights up "They must've found it, quick, we need to get the kids out." someone is heard saying "We have nowhere else to keep them you idiot! We'll kill the intruders." another yells. Ruby, as she has to go through last, sees the two people enter just as the last kid goes through with Vlad "And that's my que to go, see you, though next time, you're dead." she says, tossing a small ball of lava to the ceilimg before leaving through the portal as well, so the roof collapses.

Lisa shakes her head at her husband and daughter in law "They probably realized that just having vampiric blood doesn't make you immortal." Adrian points out, though the kids are in relative good shape "Even if it did, taking it from kids is just wrong. Besides, they should know that blood is more potent the stronger the vampire." "What do we do about her arm though?" Vlad questions, making Natasha laugh "Tony ran off when he saw the missing arm, don't worry about that." "Now that that chaos is over with I think we should find a Belmont to 'kill' you again, I'd do it, but that's hardly believable." "No, let them spread the rumor that they succeeded, they won't recognize my disguise and I can't be bothered with that entire drama anymore." Vlad points out "Fair enough, you take care of the kids, we need to get back home before Rose burns down the kitchen." Adrian tells his parents "Come visit again soon." Lisa tells them before they leave, at least it wouldn't be too boring there now, with the avengers and kids staying in the castle.
