The young ghostbusters crew are sitting there boring themselves, knowing they haven't had a ghost sighting in particularly a while. Egon Spengler III finishes his exercises at the downstairs gymnasium of the firehouse, and he wraps a white towel on his shoulders. Peter Venkman III reads a graphic novel he ordered from Amazon to rouse his mood depicting the esteemed adventures of another group battling the paranormal. Deborah files her fingernails while Winston watches a few clips from a hit paranormal series Deborah and he worked on together, Paranormal Diaries. Ray makes a few adjustments to the ghost trap, ensuring its stability remains intact when encountering a ghostly threat heading towards his teammates. Dr. Spengler, the group's mentor, enters the basement to find the young ghostbusters boring themselves at their own pace.
"I'm back, young ones. I supposed a trip to..." Dr. Spengler paused to find the crew bored, "I see there isn't a ghost sighting within the city."
Dr. Spengler's eyes scanned the room, taking in the various activities. "Well, it seems you're all finding ways to stay occupied during this quiet period. Egon, I see you're keeping physically fit. Peter, graphic novels, really? Deborah, filing your nails, a new hobby? Winston, rewatching old clips? Ray, always tinkering with the ghost trap. I'm proud of your dedication, but I have a feeling this downtime won't last long."
Just then, the phone rang, and Dr. Spengler's eyes lit up. "Ah, speak of the devil! That might be our next case. Answer it, Peter!"
Peter put down his graphic novel and picked up the phone. "Ghostbusters, Venkman speaking... Yeah, we're on it! Get the Ecto-1 ready, team! We've got a ghost sighting at the old mansion on the outskirts of town!"
The team sprang into action, their boredom forgotten in an instant. Little did they know, this call would lead them to a mysterious and dangerous threat, one that would require their unique skills and teamwork to overcome. And, as fate would have it, this was only the beginning of a thrilling adventure that would bring them face-to-face with the X-Men!
"OK, everyone settled?" Egon Spengler III inquired.
"Yes, sir." Deborah nodded.
"It's ghostbusting time." Peter smiled, gripping to his seat.
"Alright, let's do this!" Winston exclaimed, his eyes gleaming with excitement.
Ray, behind the wheel of the Ecto-1, grinned. "Hold on to your proton packs, folks! We're in for a bumpy ride!"
As the Ecto-1 sped towards the old mansion, the team felt a strange energy building up. Suddenly, the vehicle's sirens blared, and the lights flickered.
"What's happening?" Deborah asked, her voice tinged with concern.
"It's not just a ghost we're dealing with," Dr. Spengler said, his eyes fixed on the readings. "This energy signature is off the charts... It's almost as if we're being pulled into a different dimension!"
The Ecto-1 screeched to a halt in front of the mansion, and the team poured out, proton packs at the ready. But as they faced the eerie structure, they realized they were not alone. A strange, glowing portal had materialized beside them, and out stepped a team of mutants, led by none other than Professor X!
"Ghostbusters, meet the X-men," Professor X said, his eyes twinkling. "It seems we're after the same threat. Shall we join forces and take on this interdimensional menace together?"
The team arrives at Times Square as young Ghostbusters leader Egon Spengler III, springs into action alongside Peter Venkman III. A malevolent entity terrorizes the city.
"Egon, Peter, let's move! We've got a ghost to catch!" Winston exclaimed, his proton pack at the ready.
"Right behind you, Winston!" Ray replied, his eyes fixed on the entity.
