Chapter 57

Back at the X-Mansion, Macey was having a horrific nightmare about the events at the circus. She witnesses both her biological father Cyclops and her mentor, Dr. Egon Spengler confronts a demon lurking from the circus tent, but it appears to be faded from existence, trying to ridicule him. She tries to reach for them spiritually, but the fear is too real for her to handle. Most of her ghostly encounters were, in fact, intrusive to face. Nevertheless, she could have called their names to attract their attention, intentionally warning them about Ringleader's malefic proposal. She was awoken by both Professor X and Beast, who has returned from the Ringleader's funhouse after verifying a series of paranormal events. Sweat is dripping over her forehead, and she is struggling to breathe from the tip of her lungs. In addition, the nightmares have inundated her mind even though Professor X is concerned for her safety. The ambiance of the park envelops the majority of the area. Macey holds her head while respiring to relieve the stress of the night terrors she encountered in her dreams.

"Macey, are you alright?" Professor X asked, entering her room to allay her fears.

"I think so." Macey gasped, trying to regain her consciousness from the nightmares she was facing, "the nightmare about my father and Dr. Spengler battling a monster."

Professor X's expression was concerned. "A monster, you say? What did it look like?"

Macey's eyes were still wide with fear. "It was...it was the Ringleader. He was summoning something, a dark entity. My father and Dr. Spengler were trying to stop him, but...but I couldn't reach them."

Beast's voice was gentle. "You were having a nightmare, Macey. It wasn't real."

But Macey shook her head. "It felt real. I could feel the fear in them, the helplessness. I tried to call out to them, but my voice was frozen in my throat."

Professor X's eyes narrowed. "This could be more than just a nightmare, Beast. Macey may be psychically connected to her father and Dr. Spengler. We need to try and reach them and see if they're in danger."

Beast nodded. "I'll try and establish a telepathic link with Cyclops. See if I can sense anything."

Macey's eyes pleaded with Professor X. "Please, you have to warn them. The Ringleader's plan...it's evil. I know it."

"Very well, it is a crucial task I can't refuse. Only to reassure you, the Ringleader has been omnipotent to his own amusement park." Professor X assumed, and Beast appears with the device that can help her reach her father within the park.

Macey refused to let her fear stymie her spiritual connection with her biological father, Cyclops, and Dr. Spengler, her other mentor. She closed her eyes to concentrate on her energy to interact with them. Her telepathic form made a beeline for the Ringleader's twisted amusement park, locating her father. Cyclops sensed a sound of a feminine voice calling out to him, and he felt a slight pang in his mind that brought attention to both Rogue and Dr. Spengler.

"Cyclops, what is it?" Dr. Spengler queried, displaying his concerned expression on his face by raising his eyebrows.

"I think she's informing us on something from within the tent is developing its dark magic." Cyclops responded.

"What was it, Cyclops?" Rogue asked.

"A sinister sound of the Ringleader's whispers." he answered, leaving Rogue and Dr. Spengler struck with tense silence.

Back at the carousels of the haunted park, Egon struggles to shut down the carousel's internal functions while Storm and Wolverine wrangle against the dark steeds. In addition, Egon's objective has placed him in an invidious position, which places the others and himself in jeopardy. He didn't squander any time tackling with the machinery.
