In Chicago, Jason Briggs visits the Navy Pier to find the activity quiet at the moment despite a huge crowd of people cherishing themselves. He extracts his high-tech binoculars from his backpack and examines the area for clues. He lowers his binoculars after completing his scrutiny of the building's activity. He directs his head towards the African American psychic, realizing what they are up against indicates a potential sign of the apocalypse.

"So far, no activity yet." Jason responded, "Hey Isoke, are you sensing anything?"

Isoke Conteh, standing nearby, closed her eyes, focusing her senses. "Not yet, Jason. But I feel a strange energy building up. It's like a low hum in the background, waiting to escalate."

Parker C. Manning, scanning the area with his ghost-tracking equipment, spoke up, "I'm picking up some minor fluctuations, but nothing concrete yet. It's like the spirits are holding their breath, waiting for something to trigger them."

Team Ecto-prise, consisting of Bryan Welsh and his team, arrived on the scene, their eyes scanning the pier. "We're here to provide backup. What's the situation?" Bryan asked.

Jason filled them in, "Quiet for now, but Isoke senses a building energy. We're waiting for something to happen."

Bryan nodded, his team spreading out, ready to cover all angles. "Let's keep scanning and stay alert. Whatever is coming, we're ready for it."

Captain James T. Kok, Dr. Leona 'Beads' McRay and Spunk Nimoy surveyed the interior for clues and discovered a ghost wandering the pavilion.

"Ok, you heard Bryan, we must keep our eyes peeled for anything supernatural coming to our view." Jim Kok informed.

"Aye, Captain!" Spunk Nimoy replied, his eyes scanning the area. "I've got my trusty PKE meter here, and it's starting to spike. I think we've got something."

Dr. Leona 'Beads' McRay followed Spunk's gaze and saw the ghostly figure floating towards them. "It's a Class-III apparition, Captain. Looks like we've got a lost soul on our hands."

Captain James T. Kok drew his proton pistols, ready to capture the ghost. "Alright, let's move in. Spunk, can you try to communicate with it?"

Spunk nodded, holding up his PKE meter. "I'm trying, Captain. But it's not responding to my hails. It seems to be stuck in some kind of loop."

The ghost floated closer, its eyes fixed on something in the distance. Dr. McRay observed, "It's trying to communicate, but it can't quite get through. We need to find out what it's trying to say."

"Beads, can you interact with it?" Jim suggested.

"OK, though I'm a doctor, not a translator." Beads informed.

"Heh, well, you're the closest thing we have to a ghost whisperer, Beads," Jim Kok chimed in, his eyes fixed on the ghost, "Mr. Spunk, I'm going to need to figure out what caused this."

"Very well, Captain." Spunk nodded.

"Beads, try to interact with it and see if this place incurs any supernatural phenomenon whatsoever." Jim suggested.

Dr. McRay smiled wryly and stepped forward, her hands held out in a calming gesture. "Okay, let's try to communicate. Maybe I can establish a connection."

She focused on the ghost, her eyes locked on its ethereal form. "Hello? Can you understand me? We're here to help you."

The ghost floated closer, its eyes fixed on Dr. McRay. For a moment, there was silence, and then, to their surprise, it spoke in a faint, whispery voice.

"Find... the... artifact... before... it's... too... late."

Dr. McRay's eyes widened. "Did you hear that? It's trying to warn us about something!"
