Chapter 86

The X-Men and the Young Ghostbusters came in too late to find the firehouse almost in ruins after Shadow King's forces rampaged the city. They gasped in shock to find Slimer appearing in distress of the madness that transpired during their training session with Madame Meredith and Doctor Strange.

"Not again!" Peter raged, and he hustled to find the headquarters in debris.

"Slimer, what happened here?" Egon asked him.

Slimer babbles in a gibberish manner on what he witnessed earlier. The young ghostbusters tend to rationalize the warning Slimer shouted out.

"Where's Dr. Spengler?" Egon asked the green spud, concerned for Dr. Spengler's safety.

"He's been kidnapped by madman shade, madman!" Slimer exclaimed.

"You saw the Shadow King?" Egon queried, and Slimer nods his head after rationalizing the situation.

"This might be a problem, Dr. Strange. The Shadow King has rallied not only the ghosts that escaped from their containment unit, but he is assembling the most deadliest foes of the X-Men." Madame Meredith informed the Sorcerer Supreme.

"I see. In that case, we need to act against our enemy now." Dr. Strange spoke.

"Professor, are you alright?" Cyclops asked, and the professor woke up from unconsciousness to find Cyclops and the other X-Men.

"The Shadow King. He took Dr. Spengler. We couldn't stop him on our own." Professor X groaned.

Cyclops contacts his fellow X-Men member, Beast, through his communicator.

"Beast, come in." Cyclops called.

"Yes, Cyclops. I'm on the spot where Dr. Spengler has taken." Beast called, broadcasting from Krakoa.

"Who else is with you?" Cyclops continued.

"Kitty Pryde and Nightcrawler? Yes, they're here with me. We are at Krakoa to bust their mentor, Dr. Spengler, out of here."

Cyclops, we have more bad news. The Shadow King has destroyed our containment grid." Deborah informed.

"Every ghost we caught has escaped." Egon grumbled.

Professor X's eyes widened in alarm. "The Shadow King's power grows by the minute. We must act swiftly."

Cyclops nodded. "Beast, we need you to hold tight. We're sending a team to assist with the rescue and containment of the escaped ghosts."

Beast acknowledged. "Roger that, Cyclops. We'll hold our position until reinforcements arrive."

Ray's face is set in determination. "We'll need all the help we can get to round up those ghosts and take down the Shadow King."

"We are facing an entire army of ghosts." Winston responded.

Peter Venkman III nodded in agreement. "We've got a long night ahead of us, so we better recapture all these ghosts."

"It's now or never, guys." Deborah agreed.

Egon Spengler III cracked his knuckles. "Time to bust some ghosts and rescue Dr. Spengler. Who's with me?"

The X-Men and the Young Ghostbusters stood united, ready to face the challenges ahead of them to save their home from the brink of darkness. Slimer, still shaken, nodded in determination, eager to help his friends.

With a united front, the team set out to tackle the dual threats of the Shadow King's army and the escaped ghosts, determined to rescue Dr. Spengler and save the city from destruction.
