Egon wakes up after being passed out for an hour and finds himself back at the healing gardens after a horrendous fall. The first person he sees is Jean Grey, who placed a wet white towel on his forehead to cover the contusions.
"Egon, are you alright?" Jean asked him.
Egon groggily opened his eyes, his head throbbing with pain. Jean Grey's concerned face came into focus, and he felt a sense of relief wash over him. He has suffered a nasty injury on his left arm.
"Jean... what happened?" Egon croaked, his voice hoarse from the fall.
Jean smiled softly and gently dabbed his forehead with the cool towel. "You took a nasty tumble, Egon. But you're safe now. You're back in the healing gardens."
Egon struggled to sit up, but a wave of dizziness forced him back down. "The others... are they okay?"
Jean nodded reassuringly. "Everyone's fine, Egon. I'm just a bit shaken up. We're all here, safe and sound."
As Egon's gaze wandered, he saw the rest of the teams gathered around him, their faces etched with concern. Deborah was sitting next to him, holding his hand, while Ray and Winston were standing nearby, looking relieved. Valeria and Thelma were conversing with Cyclops, who was watching over the group with a protective gaze.
Egon's eyes returned to Jean, and he smiled weakly. "Thanks, Jean. I owe you one."
Jean smiled back and continued to tend to his wounds. "No need to thank me, Egon. We're in this together."
Wolverine sniffs the air and grumbles, "That Shadow King! I'll get him for nearly killing us!" He extracts his claws.
"Perhaps we can save the Shadow King for last. It appears the young ghostbusters weren't ready for him." Storm suggested.
"I hate to say this, but you're right, Storm." Cyclops sighed.
"I guess sleeping beauty just woke up." Peter pointed out.
Egon, still recovering, chuckled weakly. "Hey, watch it, Peter. I'm not that sleepy."
Wolverine retracted his claws, his expression still fierce. "Fine, we'll save the Shadow King for later. But I'm not forgetting what he did."
Storm nodded. "Our priority should be to regroup and come up with a new plan. We can't take on the Shadow King without being better prepared."
Cyclops agreed. "Storm's right. Let's focus on gathering more information and strengthening our alliance. We'll get another chance at the Shadow King."
Valeria spoke up, "I've been thinking... maybe we can use the Ghostbusters' equipment to our advantage. Combine it with our powers and see if we can come up with a new strategy."
Thelma nodded. "That's a great idea, Valeria. Let's get to work."
The teams began brainstorming, determined to come up with a plan that would take down the Shadow King and restore balance to Krakoa. Egon, still recovering, smiled, and was grateful for the teamwork and determination surrounding him.
"If it's not for Shadow King, we would've been dead." Peter chuckled, but Egon is not laughing as he grabs him by the neck.
"I said, watch it!" Egon snapped, slamming him to a wall with complete force.
"Stop it!" Valeria shouted.
"Hey, Egon. Can't you take a joke. You do know we are in this dangerous mission." Peter complained, easing himself back to his feet and sweeping the blood from his mouth.
"Danger? I'll show you danger!" Egon raged, charging his proton fist.
"Try me!" Peter huffed, activating his skates.
