Chapter 33

The team cheered in agreement, their spirits high with anticipation. Dr. Spengler nodded, a smile on his face. "Alright, let's move out! We have a castle to storm and a portal to shut down!"

Professor X added, "And remember, team, we're in this together. Our combined strength will be the key to our success."

With a unified determination, the young Ghostbusters and X-Men team set off towards the eerie air castle, ready to face whatever lay ahead. The fate of the world hung in the balance, and they were the only ones who could save it.

The ecto-1's sirens blared as the vehicle drives to their destination.

"This place is packed with residual hauntings, and I have further proof on the level of psychokinetic energy." Ray stated.

The Ecto-1's sirens pierced the air, a familiar wail that echoed through the streets as the iconic vehicle sped towards the Hudson River, its emergency lights flashing with a mesmerizing intensity. The team held on tight, their excitement and nerves building with every passing moment. As they approached the river, the castle came into view, its towering spires and turrets shrouded in a dark, eerie mist. Its facade is made of obsidian material embellished with dark webbing. The Ecto-1 screeched to a halt at the water's edge, and the team poured out, their proton packs at the ready. The stage was set for a battle of epic proportions. Lightning strikes from above the grimly overcast skies.

Dr. Spengler fixes a scan of the area using his PKE meter as Deborah did with her PKE meter app from her iPhone. Ray extracts his PKE boomerang from his proton pack and tosses it in the air to analyze for any hauntings across the castle.

Dr. Spengler's PKE meter began to beep rapidly, indicating a strong paranormal presence in the area. "We've got a significant paranormal reading here, team," he announced, his eyes scanning the data on the device.

Meanwhile, Ray's PKE boomerang soared through the air, emitting a high-pitched whine as it detected the energy signatures of the undead spirits within the castle. The boomerang suddenly halted in mid-air, spinning rapidly as it locked onto a particularly strong signal.

"Incoming!" Ray shouted, his proton pack at the ready. "We've got a horde of ghosts heading our way!"

Deborah's eyes widened as her iPhone app began to alert her to the same presence. "Guys, I'm reading a massive spike in paranormal activity! It's like nothing I've ever seen before!"

The team braced themselves for a fight of their lives. Their proton streams are charged and ready to face the onslaught of ghostly entities descending upon them. Ray retrieves his PKE boomerang and places it back into his proton pack to recharge.

Egon Spengler III equips and charges his proton fist to lash the first dark spider. Peter extracts his proton mini-gun and fires his proton beams at the dark weave. The first spider lashes Ray with its front legs while the second spins its web to tangle Deborah. Winston tosses his proton saw blade at the third spider. Dr. Spengler stuns the fourth spider with his flash camera.

The battle against the dark spiders intensified! Egon's proton fist glowed bright blue as he punched the first spider, sending it flying across the room. Peter's proton mini-gun fired a barrage of beams, disintegrating the dark weave and sending the second spider reeling. Ray winced in pain as the first spider's legs slashed across his chest, but he quickly retaliated with a blast from his proton pack. Deborah struggled to free herself from the web, but Winston's proton saw blade sliced through the strands, liberating her. Dr. Spengler's flash camera fired a blinding flash, stunning the fourth spider and leaving it vulnerable to attack. The team's coordinated efforts kept the spiders at bay, but more were closing in...
