Egon Spengler III shows Cyclops, Jean, and Beast their underground base within the firehouse. The biometric scanner takes a complete scan of Egon, including his eyes and handprints. The platform doors for the basement open wide, and he leads the three X-Men inside the area.
"Here, we have the paranormal research center where we study things paranormal such as ghosts and other paranormal phenomena. It's almost similar to the paranormal phenomena 101 classroom." Egon explained, "Hey Lars."
Lars waves at Egon Spengler III as he continues the tour.
"Lars Pinfield is our parabiologist of the Ghostbusters Engineer Corps. He, like Ray Stantz III, develops new research technology that can provide us with the resources to uncover secrets of the paranormal. Moreover, he sought Dr. Zeddemore out and joined the team not too long ago." Egon explained.
He places his hand on the bio-metric scanner and the platform doors open to reveal a classroom filled with students while the teachers lecture them on the importance of the paranormal.
"Here, we have teachers instructing a younger generation of ghostbusters on confronting the paranormal, especially in numerous cases where Armageddon struck." Egon Spengler III informed, proceeding to the aura video-analyzing room, "the aura video analyzing room is used to determine the emotional state of the person, even if they are lying, as well as display their self-image in our monitors. We found this antique hair-dryer when that hair salon next door went out of business and converted it to an aura video analyzer, which acted as a detector to determine if their story is true. It seemed pricy when it came to starting our ghostbusting business."
Cyclops's eyes widen as he takes in the advanced technology and equipment. "Impressive, Egon. Your setup here is quite extensive."
Jean Grey nods, her interest piqued. "The aura video analyzer room sounds particularly fascinating. I can see how it would be useful in detecting deception."
Beast's curiosity gets the better of him, and he asks, "Tell me, Egon, how does the biometric scanner work?"
Egon smiles as he is happy to explain. "The scanner uses advanced biometric technology to recognize individual fingerprints, retinal patterns, and even DNA. It's a highly secure system, ensuring only authorized personnel can access the facility."
As they continue the tour, Lars calls out, "Hey, Egon! I've got something here you should see."
Egon excuses himself and heads over to Lars, who is working on a strange device. "What is it, Lars?"
Lars looks up, a hint of excitement in his voice. "I think I've made a breakthrough with the proton pack's energy source. It could increase our ghost-trapping capabilities significantly."
Egon's eyes light up with interest. "Let me take a look."
Lars reveals the newest device to Egon that goes under the long list of successfully tested paranormal prototypes in case they will use it for later missions.
Egon's eyes widen as he examines the device, his mind racing with the possibilities. "Lars, this is incredible! You've successfully harnessed the power of a miniature plasma energy source. This could increase the proton pack's energy output by at least 30%!"
Lars beams with pride. "I knew I could do it, Egon. I've been working on this design for weeks."
Egon nods, his hands moving quickly to connect the device to a nearby console. "Let's run some tests and see how well it performs. This could be a game-changer for our ghost-trapping capabilities in Dr. Spengler's books."
As they begin to run the tests, the device hums to life, its energy output exceeding Egon's expectations. The data streams in, and Egon's eyes light up with excitement. Cyclops, Jean, and Beast react in awe as Lars tends to pit his latest creation to the ultimate test.
