Meanwhile, back on the other side, the X-Men kept their eyes peeled for any sentinel coming until they noticed Nimrod leading an army of sentinels. For nearly a decade, the Sentinel army has proven to be the most notorious enemy of the X-Men, and their bellicose actions against mutantkind besmirched their agreement. The X-Men eavesdrop on the conversation between Nimrod and the possessed sentinels from above, realizing his next move.
"Listen up, there are a group of humans within the factory who sought an alliance with our enemies. A band of paranormal hunters tend to shut down the factory. As Killerwatt and his minions will handle them, our priority is to kill every last mutant on the planet as well as the humans involved. Will you risk it for Orchis?" Nimrod informed the sentinels.
"Yes, sir!" The MK I sentinels shouted in unison.
"Uh-oh," Wolverine muttered, his eyes fixed on Nimrod and the army of Sentinels. "Looks like we've got a bigger problem on our hands now."
"Agreed," Cyclops said, his voice firm. "Nimrod's leading the charge, and he won't stop until we're all destroyed. We need to come up with a plan fast."
"I've got an idea," Jean Grey responded, her eyes narrowed in concentration. "I can try to reach out to the paranormal hunters, see if we can coordinate our efforts and take down the Sentinels together."
"Good thinking, Jean," Storm spoke, her eyes flashing with determination. "We'll need all the help we can get against Nimrod and his minions."
"Meanwhile, we need to get into position," Cyclops advised, his eyes scanning the area. "Wolverine, can you take this point and scout out the best route?"
"Already on it, Cyclops," Wolverine replied, his claws extended as he crept forward.
The X-Men moved into position, ready to face off against Nimrod and the Sentinels in a battle that would determine the fate of mutant kind.
"Paranormal hunters? I think he meant the Ghostbusters!" Rogue gasped, realizing the sentinels' motives.
"Holy cow, you're right!" Cyclops exclaimed in shock. "The Ghostbusters must be the ones trying to shut down the factory! We need to get in touch with them, pronto!"
"I'm on it," Jean Grey said, her eyes closed as she focused her telepathic powers. "I'll try to establish a mental link with them."
"Meanwhile, we need to hold off Nimrod and his Sentinels," Storm proposed, her hands glowing with energy. "We can't let them get the upper hand."
"Wolverine, can you take on Nimrod?" Cyclops asked, his eyes locked on the powerful Sentinel.
"He's mine," Wolverine growled, with his adamantine claws extended as he charged forward, engaging the onset.
The X-Men sprang into action, ready to face off against the Sentinels and hopefully join forces with the Ghostbusters to take down the true enemy: the factory and its sinister plans. Wolverine claws the sentinel in half, and Jean Grey uses her telekinesis to cripple the sentinel in front of her. Storm summons lightning from the sky to disable the sentinels. Rogue strikes the sentinel with a hook punch, sending one of the sentinels flying to the ceiling. Wolverine stabs the sentinel in the back and ravages another sentinel. Cyclops zaps the sentinel with his optic beams. After destroying the sentinels, the X-Men stack them up in a pile.
"That's the last of them!" Rogue responded, sweeping the dust from her hands.
"Let's not squander our time fighting the sentinels. We must inform the young ghostbusters before Nimrod can reach them and fast." Cyclops informed everyone, "Let's go, guys!"

Back at the conduit, the young ghostbusters reach the point where they discovered Killerwatt's trail ended at the compound and shut down the eighth node.
