Kadupul Flower
Adelaide's POV
I was alone now, staring at a place where my heart felt the most peace. There was a river on the side, a falls not too far away.
But what really caught my eyes was the valley, it looked so magical. I can't describe it with my own words, I just think that every being living in this village had this place designed for them because everything here looks so magical... and ethereal.
Slowly, I made myself walk to the valley. I wonder where the houses are because I couldn't see any of it. I was just alone in this beautiful place.
Climbing at the top of the valley didn't tire me at all, instead getting tired, I just felt so peaceful.
When I reached the top, I was shocked to see how far I've climbed, the foot of the valley is no longer seen, and there is a round... river? In the middle of the valley.
The water was sparkling, like it was not even real. Above the river are clouds gathered like it was only there for it.
Huh?
I squinted my eyes only to see the steam coming out of the river.
"Bakit umuusok?"
I walked to the direction of the river and then stopped when I was only a step away from it.
Will it hurt me if I touch it?
I squatted and then reached my fingertips to the river.
Agad kong hinila pabalik ang aking kamay nang maramdaman ko na may parang may buhay ang ilog.
I shouldn't be questioning it because this is where heaven and the underworld meet.
The clouds were covering the moon but when the gentle wind blew it to the side, the moon shone to the river, creating a magical light, reflecting itself in it.
I surveyed the surroundings hoping to find the kadupul flower.
The light from the moon shined again and then the river's steam started becoming too visible, making me lose my eyes on it.
A curve formed on my lips when I saw a single flower, just beside the river, it was glowing, just as bright as the moon.
A white flower, slowly bloomed in front of me, its light was blinding but I couldn't stop myself from staring at it.
I have made flowers bloom all my life but watching this flower bloom in front of me was just priceless because it was not because of
my power, the flower just bloomed on its own.Naglakad ako palapit dito ay lumuhod sa harap. "Hi there, beauty," I told the flower.
My problem now is how to pick it without it dying.
I should use my powers somehow right? I may not be able to make it bloom but I know my ability can help me from not letting it die.
"Does it hurt when I pick you?" I gently asked the flower. "Will it be okay if you help me complete my quest?" I talked to it like it was a person.
The glowing flower even glowed brighter. "Can you help me?" Tanong ko dito.
My hand started glowing the shade of green, it was in my lap but the light was slowly crawling towards the flower.
"Can I have you?" I asked again. "Don't worry, I won't let you die," I promised.
The flower shined again, creating a light like heartbeats. I touched the flower and its light felt like it's tickling me.
