Chapter 33: Sister

Sister

Adelaide's POV

"So you're saying you have been hearing voices from unknown creatures?"

I told them about everything, from the start, about the voices, the woman, and that man who has been bothering me.

Tumango ako sa tanong ni Haring Percival. Nakita ko rin ang maliit niyang pagtango bago niya hinawakan ang kanyang baba, tila nag iisip.

"The voices..." I paused. "They kept mentioning things about the abyss. Hindi ko alam kung nasaan ang lugar na iyan."

Naramdaman ko ang palad ni Leon sa aking kandungan kaya lumingon ako sa kanya at binigyan siya ng maliit na ngiti.

"Percival? Do you know anything about the abyss?" Bumaling ako sa Empress.

"Hmm... the underworld is sometimes called the abyss..." tumango siya sa Empress. "Lady Adelaide, have you seen these creatures? What do they look like?" Tumingin siya sa akin, hinihintay ang sagot ko.

"Nakita ko na sila, si Leon din. Nakaharap niya sa mansyon ko ang nilalang na iyon."

Leon cleared his throat. "His skin looked like it was bathed in acid, I can't really describe his whole face, he just looked... rotten."

"Other Dark Lords live in the underworld, maybe we can get clues if we go there," ani ng hari.

"Puntahan nalang natin yang abyss na yan para makita na natin yang mga kalaban," detirminadong saad ni Magnus.

"Yeah, and then we'll leave you and your loud mouth there," seryosong sagot ni Blair.

"How about we both leave you there?" sabat ni Robin.

When the Empress cleared her throat, the three of them kept quiet. "Where were we, love?" Nakangiting tanong ni Eira sa hari.

"We could go there," ani ni Percival. "It has been a while since I last visited there."

"Now? You can't go to that place right now, not when Tobias still needs us."

Ngayon ko lang nakita ang ganoong reaksyon ni Robin. Bakas sa kanyang mukha ang pag aalala sa kanyang kapatid.

"Adelaide is our sister too, love," mahinang saad sa kanya ng Empress.

Lumingon sa akin si Robin, lumambot ang kanyang tingin, tila humihingi ng paumanhin. "What about my brother?"

"Ayos lang," sabat ko para hindi sila mag talo. "Hindi naman ako nagmamadali," nakangiti kong saad.

"Tobias will understand."

Magkasabay kaming bumaling kay Blair. Walang ekspresyon ang kanyang mukha ngunit tila seryoso siya sa kanyang sinabi.

"Look, I'm sorry, Lady Adelaide. But I can't go anywhere without thinking of Tobias, I just can't bear leaving him here," saad ni Robin sa akin.

"Robin," Leon called her in a warning tone. "No one is leaving our brother," aniya at hinawakan ang kamay ko.

"We can't go to that place," pakikipaglaban ng prinsesa. "We're not even certain if we can go out of that place alive."

"Robin," tawag sa kanya ng Empress. "The abyss is in the underworld, my love," aniya sa kapatid. "And we have a King here who happens to rule that place," tinapunan niya ng tingin ang hari na tahimik lang sa tabi niya.

"Wag niyo munang isipin yan," saad ko sa kanila. "Maaari naman na ipalipas muna natin ang paghahanap ko sa babae," sumandal ako kay Leon.

"If you're thinking about Tobias, of course we will not leave him here alone. You  will stay in the palace, Magnus and Blair too," sabi ng Empress.
