Five Hargreeves had been looking forward to this night for weeks. For once, it wasn't about averting an apocalypse or dealing with family drama—it was about a simple game night with his siblings and his girlfriend, Y/N. He hoped it would be a chance for everyone to relax and have some fun together.
"Welcome to the Hargreeves Family Game Night!" Klaus announced dramatically as he opened the door for Y/N. "Prepare yourself for an evening of treachery and betrayal, my dear."
Y/N laughed, giving Klaus a hug. "I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for having me."
Five appeared behind Klaus, rolling his eyes. "Ignore him. He takes game night way too seriously."
"Only because it's the one night I get to be a true villain," Klaus said with a wink. "Now, let's get this party started!"
They gathered around the large dining table, which was already set up with a Monopoly board. Luther, Allison, Diego, Viktor, and Ben were all there, ready to play. Y/N took a seat next to Five, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness.
As the game began, it quickly became clear that Klaus had no intention of playing fair. He palmed extra money from the bank, swapped properties when no one was looking, and sweet-talked his way into shady deals.
"Klaus, you can't just take money whenever you feel like it," Diego complained, catching him in the act.
"What? I'm merely redistributing wealth," Klaus said innocently, stuffing the bills into his pile.
"More like embezzling," Allison said, laughing.
The game grew increasingly chaotic. Diego accused Luther of hoarding properties, Viktor got into a heated debate with Ben about the rules, and Allison tried to mediate while also attempting to build her own monopoly.
Meanwhile, Five and Y/N watched the chaos unfold with amused disbelief. "I told you it would be interesting," Five said, leaning over to whisper in Y/N's ear.
"You weren't kidding," Y/N replied, shaking her head with a smile.
Things took a turn for the worse when Diego, frustrated by Klaus's antics, flipped the board, sending pieces flying everywhere. "That's it! I'm done with this game!"
Luther sighed, rubbing his temples. "Diego, calm down. It's just a Game."
"Yeah, but it's not fun when someone's cheating," Diego shot back, glaring at Klaus.
"Cheating? Me? How dare you!" Klaus said, but his grin gave him away.
One by one, the siblings left the table, either too annoyed or too amused to continue. Eventually, it was just Five and Y/N sitting among the scattered pieces of the game.
Five looked at Y/N, a mix of apology and amusement in his eyes. "Well, that escalated quickly."
Y/N laughed, shaking her head. "Your family sure knows how to make game night memorable."
Five started to clean up the mess, and Y/N helped, the two of them working in comfortable silence. Once everything was back in order, they sat back down at the table, sipping their drinks and enjoying the relative peace.
"Despite the chaos, I'm glad you came," Five said, reaching across the table to take Y/N's hand.
"I'm glad I came too," Y/N replied, squeezing his hand. "It was actually a lot of fun. Your family is... unique, but I like them."
Five smiled, leaning in to kiss her softly. "They'll grow on you. Just like you did on me."
Y/N laughed, leaning her head on his shoulder. "I look forward to more chaotic game nights with you."
Five wrapped his arm around her, feeling a rare sense of contentment. "As long as we always end up like this, I'll take all the chaos in the world."
And so, amid the remnants of a disastrous game night, Five and Y/N found their own little slice of peace and happiness.
