Y/n lived next door to the Umbrella Academy and had always been fascinated by the Hargreeves siblings. She admired their bravery, their powers, and their ability to save the world. But among all the extraordinary children, Number Five had always held a special place in her heart. With his sharp mind, confident demeanor, and ability to teleport, he was nothing short of amazing to her thirteen-year-old self.

Every day after school, Y/n would sit on her porch and watch the Umbrella Academy mansion, hoping to catch a glimpse of Five. She would daydream about him, imagining all sorts of scenarios where they would meet and he would notice her. She knew it was just a crush, but it made her happy.

One sunny afternoon, Y/n's heart skipped a beat when she saw the familiar black car pull up in front of the mansion. The Umbrella Academy kids were back from a mission. As they exited the car, looking a bit disheveled but victorious, Y/n couldn't help but stare at Five. He was as cool and composed as ever, despite the obvious signs of battle.

Five glanced in her direction and caught her staring. Y/n's face turned bright red, and she quickly looked away, pretending to be interested in a patch of flowers in her yard. But she couldn't resist stealing another glance, and to her surprise, Five was still looking at her. This time, he smiled and winked.

The simple gesture sent Y/n's heart racing. She felt like she was floating on air, her mind a whirl of excitement and disbelief. But in her daze, she didn't notice the garden hose lying in her path. As she turned to head inside, she tripped over it and felt herself falling.

Before she could hit the ground, there was a sudden rush of wind and a firm grip around her waist. She looked up to find herself in Five's arms. He had teleported to catch her just in time. Y/n's face was now an even deeper shade of red, if that was possible.

"Are you okay?" Five asked, his voice calm and steady.

Y/n could only nod, her words completely failing her. She was in such awe that she couldn't believe this was happening. Five, her hero, had just saved her from an embarrassing fall.

Five gently set her back on her feet and gave her a reassuring smile. "You should be more careful," he said, a hint of amusement in his voice.

"I-I will," Y/n managed to stammer out, feeling like her heart was about to explode from happiness and embarrassment.

As Five turned to rejoin his siblings, he gave her one last smile. "See you around, Y/n."

Y/n watched him go, feeling like she was in a dream. She couldn't wait to tell her best friend about what had happened. From that day on, every time she thought of his smile, her heart would flutter, she felt a little braver knowing that he knew her name and had looked out for her.

For Five, the incident was a small, sweet moment in the midst of his chaotic life. He found it endearing how much the neighbor girl admired him and his siblings. It reminded him that despite all the dangers they faced, they were still just kids to some people—kids who could inspire awe and wonder in those around them. And that was something worth cherishing.
