The family meeting had been emotionally draining, but Amara knew there was one more person she needed to talk to—Namiko. At three years old, Namiko was still very much in the world of simple explanations and understanding through play. Amara had to figure out how to explain something as complex as a baby coming into their lives in a way that made sense to her little girl.

After the family meeting wrapped up, Amara took a deep breath and walked to Namiko's playroom. The little girl was playing with her toys, her tiny fingers engrossed in building a block tower.

"Hi, sweetie," Amara said gently as she knelt beside her daughter.

Namiko looked up and smiled, "Hi, Mommy!"

Amara smiled back, taking a moment to gather her thoughts. "Namiko, I need to tell you something important. Do you remember how we talked about how babies grow in their mommy's tummy?"

Namiko nodded, her eyes wide with curiosity. "Yeah, like when I was in your tummy?"

"Exactly," Amara said, trying to keep her explanation as simple as possible. "Well, there's going to be a new baby coming. So, soon, Mommy will have a baby in her tummy again."

Namiko's eyes grew even wider. "A baby? Like a new toy?"

Amara chuckled softly. "Kind of like a new toy, but it's a real baby. The baby will be small and will need a lot of love and care."

Namiko seemed to ponder this for a moment, then asked, "Can I play with the baby?"

"Yes, but when the baby is a little bigger, you can play with them," Amara explained. "The baby will be very tiny at first, and Mommy will need to take care of it a lot."

Namiko nodded, as if she were trying to fit this new piece of information into her little world. "Can I help you with the baby?"

"Of course!" Amara said, her heart swelling with pride. "You can help by being a great big sister. You can give the baby hugs and play with them when they're a bit older."

Namiko beamed, clearly excited about the idea. "I'll be a good big sister!"

Amara hugged her tightly. "I know you will be. And no matter what, Mommy and Daddy will always be here to help you and the baby."

Namiko hugged her back, then went back to her block tower with a look of determination, as if she were already preparing for her new role.

As Amara watched her daughter play, she felt a deep sense of peace. She knew there were many challenges ahead, but seeing Namiko's enthusiasm made her believe that they would handle everything together, as a family.

The conversation was brief but meaningful, and Amara felt reassured that Namiko's introduction to the idea of a new sibling was as gentle as possible. Now, all she had to do was take it one step at a time, with her family and her little girl by her side.
