After the flurry of excitement and heartfelt conversations with her family and friends, Amara decided to take a moment to check on Namiko. The three-year-old had been a little quiet amidst the celebration, and Amara wanted to make sure she was okay.

As she made her way to Namiko's room, she heard soft sniffling from behind the door. Amara gently knocked before opening it, and her heart sank at the sight of her daughter sitting on the floor, her small face streaked with tears.

"Namiko, sweetheart, what's wrong?" Amara asked softly, kneeling beside her.

Namiko looked up with tearful eyes. "I wanted a baby sister. I don't want a baby brother."

Amara's heart ached at her daughter's disappointment. She carefully sat down beside Namiko and pulled her into a comforting hug. "I know you really wanted a baby sister, and I'm sorry that it's not what you hoped for."

Namiko sniffled, clinging to her mom. "But I don't know how to play with a baby brother. I wanted to have tea parties and dress-up."

Amara gently brushed a tear from Namiko's cheek. "You know, having a baby brother can be just as much fun. You'll be able to teach him all the things you love, like having tea parties and dress-up. He might even enjoy playing those games with you when he's older."

Namiko looked up at Amara, her curiosity piqued despite her sadness. "Do you really think so?"

Amara nodded with a reassuring smile. "Absolutely. And you'll be the best big sister ever. Your baby brother will look up to you and think you're the coolest person in the world."

Namiko's tears began to subside as she considered her mom's words. "Will he like my toys?"

"I'm sure he will," Amara said, giving Namiko a gentle squeeze. "And you can help pick out toys for him too. You'll be able to share all the things you love with him."

Namiko wiped her eyes and managed a small smile. "Okay. I'll try to be a good big sister."

Amara's heart swelled with love. "That's my girl. You're already doing a great job just by being so caring. We're all going to have so much fun together."

Namiko nodded, her mood lifting as she hugged her mom tightly. "Thanks, Mommy."

Amara kissed the top of Namiko's head and smiled. "Anytime, sweetheart. I'm so proud of you. We're a team, and we'll make this new chapter amazing together."

As they sat together, Amara felt a renewed sense of purpose. Ensuring Namiko felt included and excited about the arrival of her baby brother was important, and she was committed to making the transition as smooth as possible for her little girl.

The two of them headed back to the main room, where the party was still in full swing. Amara felt a sense of contentment knowing that while there would be adjustments ahead, they would face them together as a family. The love and support they had for each other were the foundation for their growing family, and Amara was determined to nurture that bond every step of the way.
