Today Dave and Cody are going over to Dave's parents house, and Patricia is coming over to spend the day with Amanda and Juliet. Amanda plans to have lunch, then they can go to the mall.

Patricia came around noon, and by that time Dave and Cody had already left. "Hi mom." Amanda says, hugging Patricia. "Hi honey, where's Juliet?" Patricia asks. "She's upstairs getting dressed, she should be ready soon." Amanda says. Patricia nods, "Do you want something to drink mom?" Amanda asks. "A glass of water would be nice." Patricia says. Amanda nods and grabs a glass out of the cabinet.

As Amanda is fixing the water Juliet comes downstairs in a pink flowery dress. "Hi grandma." Juliet says giving her a hug. "Hi sweetie, you look beautiful." Patricia says. "Thank you!" Juliet smiles. "Here you go mom." Amanda says handing the glass of water. "Thank you honey." Patricia says as she takes a sip. "So, I was planning on we go to lunch, then we can go to the mall. If you want we can get our nails done." Amanda says. "Sounds like fun." Patricia says. After Patricia finishes her water they head out, taking Amanda's van.

"So what's dad up to?" Amanda asks. "I think he's working on a car in the garage." Patricia says. Amanda nods, "A new car?" Amanda asks. "Yeah, he found this new car. He's practically in love with it, maybe more than with me." Patricia says. Amanda laughs. "So where are we thinking for lunch?" Patricia asks. "I was thinking Apple Bees, they have a large variety of food." Amanda says. "Sounds good to me." Patricia says. "Juliet, that okay?" Amanda asks. Patricia looks back and sees Juliet frantically texting on her phone.

"Juliet, your mother asked you a question." Patricia says. "Oh yeah, that's fine." Juliet says, not looking up from her phone. Patricia turns back around, and gives her daughter a look. "She didn't even bother looking at you." Patricia says. "I know mom." Amanda says, trying not to make it a big deal. "She would have never gotten away with that as a teenager, you going soft on her?" Patricia asks. "She's an adult now, there's only so much I can do." Amanda says. "She's still your child, and is still prone to getting a good whooping." Patricia says. Amanda nods, "I know mom."

Meanwhile in the backseat, Juliet is texting Meredith. Meredith got in trouble with her dad again, and she thinks she's too old to be spanked. Her dad obviously doesn't agree, and her mom's away on a business trip. So she can't ask her about it.

A few minutes they arrive at the restaurant, and everyone gets out. Juliet is still texting on her phone, and Patricia has had enough. "Juliet, please put your phone away." Patricia says. "I'm texting my friend, she needs to talk right now." Juliet says. "Tell her you will text her later, she will understand. And if she doesn't let me talk to her." Patricia says. Juliet glances at her mom for a second before nodding. "Yes ma'am, sorry." Juliet says. "Thank you." Patricia says. Adam and Amanda had a very strict upbringing. Dennis and Patricia both being very strict parents. It's how they were raised there whole childhood, and sometimes still to this day.

Juliet tells Meredith she has to go, then puts her phone in her purse. Amanda gets them a booth, and they get seated right away. "What are you thinking of getting, mom?" Amanda asks. "Hmm..I might just get the grilled ham and cheese." Patricia says. Amanda nods, looking through the menu. A few minutes later the waiter comes by and they all order their food and drinks.

"So, who were you texting?" Patricia asks. "My friend Meredith, we work together." Juliet says. Patricia nods, "And how's school going?" Patricia asks. "It's good, just a lot of homework. I guess it's just a lot, because I work all day, then come home and have to do schoolwork." Juliet says. Patricia nods, "Well, your schoolwork is a lot more important. So it may come to you having to quit your job." Patricia says. Juliet nods, "I don't really want it to come to that, but it might." Juliet says. A few minutes later the food is brought out, and they enjoy their meal while having a light conversation.
