Little black

and just like that, everythings changed

Cassie woke up to see multiple pairs of eyes staring down at her. The first ones she could make out were the emerald green eyes.

"Harry, what happened?"

"Thank god you woke up, are you alright?"

He helped her sit up and her vision started to clear, she noticed that everyone in the room was starting at her with concerned features, Hermionie was kneeled on her left side with her wand pointed at her head, muttering some sort of healing spells.

"Does your head hurt?" She asked

"No, it doesn't, actually. Thanks, Mionie" 

She surveyed the room a little more beyond the circle of people around her. The first thing she noticed was proffesor Snape lying on the bed that Ron had been on ealrier, he looeked to be passed out cold with a line of blood trickling down his face.

Hope I didn't look like that. She thought

The next thing to catch her eyes was the presence od someone she had never seen before thar stood next to her father, a chain linking them together at the ankles.

He was a very short man with a chubby face and thin, faded blonde hair with a couple of bald patches. She noticed that the man had almost rat like features with small, watery eyes and a long, point nose. His eyes were darting around the room while wringing his hands together and panting.

"You were telling the truth?"  She whispered to Remus as the realisation kicked in, the man had put both hands on her face and was checking her injuries as soon as she adressed him, after analysing the man before her and she got a nod in response.

"so you" She turned to Sirius "you really are innocent?"

"I as good as killed James and Lily" His voice no longer sounded gruff or threatening. It now had an air of relif and calm "but I would have given my own life before I ever betrayed them. I was their secret keeper originally, but we realised that it was too obvious that way, so Peter here took over the role and.....we all know how that went. "

Cassandra stood up on her shaky legs, leaning some of her weight on Harry to help stabilise herself. She couldn't imagine the scene she must have missed but was shocked all the same as he friends at the revelation. All this time, the man that was coming to murder her and Harry was innocent, and the real culprit had been right under their noses. She knew there was no possible way for her to have known this, but she still felt a little foolish.

Pettigrew snapped his eyes over to the girl as soon as she stood and didn't waste one second before trying to plead. He dropped to his knees so fast that she nearly toppled over and gasped in pain as he grasped onto her ankle.

"Cassandra, you look just like your parents. We were all the best of friends at your age. Sweet girl, you always treated me nice as a rat. You like Scabbers, right? Show me some mercy. " The man spluttered out in a frantic state

"Let go of her! How dare you touch her!" Yelled Black, he grasped onto the dusty blazer that Pettigrew wore and used it to throw him backwards.

"Sandy? You alright poppet?"

Cass looked up into the eyes of Sirius Black. She wasn't sure what to say after going from absolutely despising him to now finding out he didn't deserve that. She felt guilty but still a little hesitant around the man. She knew that this was her dad but he was also still a stranger to her so naturally she felt cautious around him.

"Erm, yeah, I'm alright. I'm sorry for... you know, hating you and stuff. "

Sirius laughed the first proper laugh he had in 12 years.
