"What the fuck are we doing?" Amelia said as she continued to braid my hair before another long car ride.

"No idea." I raised my brows as if she could see.

It fell silent until I felt a hard knick against my neck which resulted in my pulling myself forward and grabbing on to the spot, "Ow! What the fuck was that?" I turned to look at her, she still had the end of my braid in her hand.

"I was just trying to see if I was dreaming!" She threw one hand up, "You're supposed to do that to yourself dummy." I couldn't hold in my laugh at her stupidity.

"Well maybe you were dreaming." I could feel her shrug, "Yeah not sure that's how it works, Am."

She patted my shoulders once more after putting in the rubber band on the end of my hair.

"Ready?" She asked as I stood up.

I sighed, tickling Pontiacs chin as he held it up towards me on the bed, "Not really, I don't even know what to expect." I shook my head.

"The same thing that you've got these past two weeks I guess." She shrugged as I looked back.

"Yeah but that wasn't really..." I stopped myself, having no words to even describe how I felt about it.

"It can't always be sunshine's and rainbows Ivory." She turned her full body towards me, "All of us are going to fight, it's not always gonna be easy but you have to make it work for the people that you love."

The way she said it made me realize how stubborn and stupid I was being. Obviously nothing was going to be perfect, "Yeah, I guess I just got too caught up in a fantasy." I laughed a little.

She hummed, "Well i'm ready when you're ready."

"Yeah, yeah." I bent down to grab the kennel, placing it on to my bed, "Just gotta fight with Pontiac on getting him in." I said as I stared at him.

"I wanted to make a stop before we go." She cleared her throat, "Where?" I raised a brow.

"Gotta say bye to Ethan and Brian, I know they're gonna be pissed." She looked a little sad as she said this.

"Shit!" I gasped.

"I completely forgot to pay Ethan for cat sitting this fucker." I pointed to the cat that meowed below me.

"I'm gonna miss those fuckers." She stared into the abyss as she thought about them.

"They were the first friends that I made when I moved here." She shook her head, biting her bottom lip.

"Are you sure you're ready to go Amelia?" I asked once more after seeing the sadness on her face.

She quickly picked her face back up again, "Yeah, it's just a state away I can always visit. Just gonna be weird not seeing them every week." She stuffed her hands into her pockets nervously.

"Alright then." I turned back around to Pontiac, still sitting in the same position before I wrapped my arms around him.

"Come on boy." He whined as I shoved him into the small cage, making me feel guilty even though he was a pain in the ass and most definitely deserved the jail time.
