Iman's POV

I watched the living room fill with laughter and conversation, feeling a deep sense of warmth and love. My mom, and my sisters, Selena, Felicia, and Maya were all here, their voices mingling with the sounds of Nikki's family. Tom, Nikki's grandfather, sat comfortably in an armchair, holding baby Julius in his arms. His face lit up with joy as he cooed and played with the baby, while Maya, perched beside him, couldn't stop smiling and calling Julius cute.

It had been a whirlwind of a few days. Tom had flown out first, arriving with his usual calm and gentle demeanor, immediately blending into our bustling household. Ceece and Deana followed two days later. We'd offered for them to stay with us, but Deana had insisted on a hotel. Perhaps it was for the best, considering Deana hadn't stopped talking about herself and the wild partying days of her youth since she arrived. It was endearing at times, but also exhausting.

As I observed the room, I couldn't help but smile. Tom and Maya were still fawning over Julius, and Nikki was deep in conversation with Selena and Felicia, their voices a comforting background hum. Deana was telling another animated story about the good old days, while Ceece listened politely, a small smile on her face.

A knock on the door pulled me from my thoughts. I stood up, smoothing down my shirt, and walked to the door. Opening it, I was greeted by the sight of Ola and Ash, both holding a gift bag. I couldn't help but grin as I hugged Ola, taking the bag from her, and then hugged Ash.

"Hey, you two! It's so good to see you!" I exclaimed, stepping aside to let them in.

Ola smiled back, but there was a flicker of tension in her eyes. "It's good to see you too, Iman."

"Is Slash here?" I asked.

She rolled her eyes playfully. "That's a story for another time."

"Come on in." As they stepped into the living room, I announced, "Look who's here!"

Everyone looked up, smiling and greeting Ola and Ash warmly.

Ash walked over to where Tom and Maya were sitting and took a seat beside Maya. Deana, ever the social butterfly, immediately exclaimed, "Oh, you're a very handsome boy!" Ash blushed slightly and murmured a shy thanks, his eyes drifting down to Julius.

Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed my mom and Ola exchanging looks. They hadn't spoken since what happened back in '87. I felt a knot of fear tighten in my stomach, worried that my mom might chase Ola away. But to my surprise, she got up and walked over to Ola, enveloping her in a tight hug. They held each other for a long moment, and I felt the tension melt away, replaced by a warm glow of relief and happiness.

My mom finally pulled back, her eyes shining with unshed tears. "Thank you again for being there for her."

"Terri, it's not a problem. I love our girls."
