Chapter 11: Found You

MIKHA'S POV

One week has passed and I still don't get the peace that I always crave. I can't enjoy reading my book or listening to my music because of those nosy people.

Since the first lunch na nakasama ko ang mga kaibigan ko and Aiah's friends, hindi na nanahimik ang buong linggo ko.

They all became close, dahil na rin sa girlfriend ni Gwen si Sheena and parating magkasama si Maloi and Colet because of her atraso.

While Stacey handles Jhoanna's major subjects kaya madalas din sila magkasama and magbangayan.

At first, I really tried to avoid them but these friends of mine blackmailed me na they're gonna tell Aiah and Aiah's friends that the four of us are best friends at muntikan pa kami mag-away.

"Ayaw mo ba kaming kasama?" Pagdadrama sa'kin ni Jhoanna nong makarating kami sa bahay.

"Stop being dramatic, you know my reasons." I seriously said as I sat on the couch while massaging my temples.

That lunch break gave me a headache for real.

"Dude, you're seen with the councilor these past few days, you're not living in peace na sinasabi mo rin dahil madalas ikaw din ang usapan sa university." Jhoanna started as the three of them sat down sa katapat kong upuan.

"I will avoid them." I shortly replied but I'm not sure of it.

"Hindi ka nga sure sa sagot mo, you know you can't avoid them lalo na student teacher mo si Aiah." she replied.

"Yun na nga eh, tas makikisabay pa kayo." I blurted to her.

I quickly regretted what I'd said when I saw hurt flash on Jhoanna's face.

"Edi yun nga! Ayaw mo kami kasama, ba't sumama ka pa rito kung ganyan lang din naman?"

This time she raised her voice.

"Tama na, Jho." saway sa'min ni Ate Colet.

Nanahimik naman si Jhoanna but I could see how disappointed and hurt her face was kaya naguguilty talaga ako pero ayaw ko rin naman pumayag sa gusto n'ya.

It sounds selfish but remembering what I experienced before sa States dahil lang close ako sa kanila really traumatized me.

Yung feeling na kada galaw ko may nanonood sa'kin at may mga nasasabi.

"We understand your reasons, Mikha, pero may point din si Jhoanna, ayaw mo ba talaga kaming kasama?"

This time si Ate Colet naman ang nagsalita and I don't know how to explain myself.

"Think about it, Mikha. Hindi naman nila malalaman ang true identity mo and besides, lalabas din 'yung totoo and being close to them, may reason ka na para makausap kami kahit saan without being suspicious na sa iisang circle of friends lang tayo, right?" Gwen stated.

Gwen is the type of person who doesn't really talk a lot but once she started speaking, I know that she has a point.

"Yung totoo, Mikha? It's not about you enjoying your solitude, diba?" Jhoanna seriously said.

I averted my gaze from her.

Me and Jhoanna bicker a lot dahil iba-iba ang ugali namin sa isa't isa, pero sa kanilang tatlo siya ang pinakaclose ko, not in a way sa mga kalokohan.

Our closeness is something deep, something that includes emotions and feelings.

I'm never really the type of person who opens up, I'm away from that.
