As I hit send, I glanced at Aiah, who was putting on her seatbelt.
I couldn't afford to let my guard down, not when her safety was on the line.
I slid into the driver's seat beside Aiah, adjusting the mirrors and fastening my seatbelt.
"So, where to?" I asked, glancing at her.
"Supermall ho, manong." she replied with a teasing tone.
I glared at her before starting the engine.
"Copy, manang." I responded sarcastically.
I heard her chuckle at my response.
The car fell into a comfortable silence.
I focused on the road while Aiah seemed content just looking out the window.
A few minutes passed before Aiah shifted in her seat.
"Can I open your radio?" she asked, breaking the silence.
"Sure." I replied, glancing at her briefly before turning my attention back to the road.
"So, what kind of music do you like?"
I shrugged, keeping my eyes on the road.
"Hindi naman ako picky, like anything that has a good beat or meaningful lyrics, you?" Sagot ako sumulyap ng tingin sa kaniya.
Aiah smiled, seemingly pleased with my answer.
"Same, It really depends on my mood."
"Pero alam mo ba." Aiah started to say, but then she suddenly stopped, turning to look at me seriously.
"Secret lang to ha." she added.
I couldn’t help but find it cute, the way she leaned in slightly tapos ‘yong pag singit pa na mata n'ya na parang may gagawin s'yang masama sa'kin pag nag ingay ako.
"Okay, secret." I replied with a small smile.
Napansin ko naman natigilan s'ya bago mag salita ulit.
"I'm a fan of Jhoanna's, Colet's, and Gwen's band, Pestilence Veil, alam mo naman 'yong band nila, diba?"
