NO ONE'S POV

Books were scattered all around the room, and a girl sat at her desk, once again too engrossed in a single book.

The soft glow from her desk lamp illuminated the pages, her fingers tracing over the words as she read, oblivious to the mess surrounding her.

It wasn't just any book-it was the one she had been working on for years.

Bawat salita, bawat pangungusap, may bahagi ng sarili niyang nakalagay doon.

The story felt personal, as if every chapter was a reflection of the memories she cherished or tried to forget.

She had poured her heart into it, yet the ending still eluded her.

Kahit ilang beses na niyang sinulat at binura ang dulo, parang hindi pa rin ito tama.

She furrowed her brows in concentration as she turned the last page, realizing there was still so much left unsaid.

The story felt incomplete, the characters frozen in moments of pain, regret, and unresolved emotions.

"Pa'no ko ba tatapusin 'to?" she muttered to herself, setting the book down with a sigh.

Her eyes drifted toward the scattered papers on the floor-mga papel na puno ng mga tinanggal na eksena at mga alternative endings na hindi kailanman sumakto sa kwento.

Frustrated, she ran her hands through her hair, staring at the unfinished work in front of her, wondering if she'd ever find the right ending.

There were a few pages left na pwede pang sulatan if she thought about having an alternative ending.

In the last part of the book she was writing, the protagonist, Mikhaela Janna Jeminea Lim, died.

She wanted the ending to be more memorable, something that would truly catch the readers' emotions.

The original ending was a masterpiece in itself, but it was too painful, filled with grief and regrets.

Some readers might love it, especially those who find solace in stories that mirror their own pain.

They were the ones who used reading as a coping mechanism, seeking comfort in the hurt that resonated with their experiences.

For them, stories laced with angst provided a way to feel, to connect with emotions that were often too overwhelming to confront in reality.

But most readers craved a happy ending.

They wanted a resolution that would leave them feeling uplifted and hopeful.

For some, reading was an escape from the harsh realities of life, a chance to step into a world where anything was possible, and happiness could prevail.

Others simply read for fun, seeking joy in the characters' adventures and triumphs.

And then there were those who yearned to feel something, anything, that their own lives might not provide.

They sought out stories to experience emotions they might never encounter in reality, a way to live vicariously through the characters' journeys.

For them, it was essential to find that spark of hope, to believe that no matter how dark the world might seem, there could still be light at the end of the tunnel.

As she pondered these thoughts, she realized the responsibility that came with writing. "Dapat maging mas makabuluhan ang kwento." she whispered, contemplating how she could weave together pain and hope, grief and healing, in a way that would resonate with every type of reader.
