Flash backs

"So what do you want to start with?" Alex initiated the conversation. "This gorgeous Little Rock," Jake began setting the carmine stone on the floor in the centre of their circle, "this is the philosopher's stone, it was made by Nicolas Flamel, a 665 year old alchemist, some time in the 14th century. With this stone you can make an elixir of life which grants the drinker immortality. We came by this magical artefact today after our flight lesson, it was in an abandoned classroom,"
"What just there?" Eleana interrupted

"Let me finish, it was being contained within a mirror, one Cassiopeia identified as the mirror of erised, a cursed mirror which shows those who look into it what their hearts most desire. While we were there Cynthia had a vision of someone taking the stone and giving it to Voldemort to bring him back to life. Anyway we figure that we should write a nice heartfelt letter to one Lord Flamel and Miss Bones explaining the situation." Jake concluded pulling out sheets of paper, a quill and ink from his pocket.

"You just carry those on you?" Ginny asked. "You never know when you'll need it." Jake patted the younger girls head.

Kira picked up the quill and ink and began writing, she had the nicest handwriting of the group after all. "Right so that's one thing, what does this all have to do with Dumbles?" Eleana questioned tilting her head to the left, her lifting her hand to show one finger as she spoke. "This is why you aren't a Ravenclaw," Alex mocked lightly hitting her head with his fist making her huff, "clearly Dumbledore set this all up waiting for someone to find it. He isn't trying to hide what's going on, he wants someone to get involved. That means there is a threat in the school he can't handle so he wants to use children as soldiers instead." Alex stated briefly looking to the others for reassurance in his answer.

Kira looked up from the page she was writing on, "yeah but what could he possibly need to use children to fight against?"

"Voldemort," Cassiopeia said it so surly as though she had heard it from the headmaster himself, "he manipulated child soldiers in the first war against Voldemort he would do it again. This leads me to believe that he is already in the school and I would place a bet as to were." She elaborated seeing the apprehension on her siblings faces.

"Quirrell!" The rest stated in unison finally catching on to what she was saying. Professor Quirrell had been their Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher that year, he had a horrible fake stutter and always wore a purple turban on his head.

"If anyone is suspicious it's him. Also can someone cast a warming charm I'm getting cold." Kira agreed shuffling slightly to try and keep warm until Jake was done casting the charm. It was nearing the end of October, Halloween or Samhain was the next day and the group were eager to preform their traditional Samhain ritual.

"You follow the old ways?" Abarx Malfoy asked looking over to the group with a quizzical expression. "Indeed, they are important to sustain our magic." Eleana's reply earned a nod of approval from each of the pure bloods present.

"Anyway moving on tell us about your flying lesson Draco wouldn't stop talking about Harry and quidditch after." Cassiopeia enquired her head tipping slightly to her right out of curiosity. "Ah well it's sort of a long story so in the morning we just hung out in the library but then it was during the lesson things went wrong, so basically

Eleana and Alex had to exited the library and headed over to the field a few minutes early for their lesson, on their way there they passed Achlys and Neville who they invited along. "So are you two exited for the lesson?" Eleana asked as they sat waiting on the grass.

"Not really, what if I fall or something goes wrong!?" Neville stressed as he turned slightly green at the thought. "Don't worry we'll catch you if something happens," Alex reassured placing a hand on the Hufflepuff's shoulder, "what about you Betty?" He turned to Achlys as he asked , watching amused as she groaned at the nickname.

"I'm excited, I for one want to be on the quidditch team next year so I can't wait for this!" She bounced in her seat with excitement, her joy passing onto Eleana who also bounced slightly.

Soon Madam Hooch and the rest of the students entered the field and the lesson began.
The hour passed pretty smoothly if you ignored how nervous some students seemed until it came time to try mounting the broom.

As the students waited for the whistle Neville began rising off the floor calling for help as he did. "Boy, get down from there!" Madam Hooch yelled hopelessly. "Aren't you a teacher do something to help!" Achlys complained.

"Aren't you a teacher do something to help!" Barty yelled at the same time as his daughter high-fiving her afterwards.

As Neville got higher his robes caught on one of the iron statues situated on the roof dislodging him from his broom and leaving him suspended in the air, a crowd of students began forming below him.

Pushing to the front of the group Alex raised his wand, "wingardium leviosa" he chanted carefully lifting the other boy of off the statue and back down to the ground were he collapsed in a heap on the floor.

Rushing forwards Eleana and Alex both helped Neville to his feet, turning to face Madam Hooch Alex spoke, "me and Lea are going to take him to Madam Pomfrey, you should come too to give a report." Alex and Eleana then began walking Hooch following after them with a warning to the students that none of them are permitted to fly until she is back.

Suddenly Harry Potter and Ron Weasley appeared at the front of the group were Alex and Eleana had previously been, "did you see that Ron," Harry laughed picking something of the floor, it was a ball, clear in colour that had been gifted to Neville that morning from his Grandmother, "maybe if the fat limp had given this a squeeze he would have remembered to land on his fat arse." He jested tossing the ball up and down as Ron egged him on.

"Give it back Potter, what are you even doing here your flying lessons ended already?" Achlys demanded holding out her hand for the ball.

A disappointed look was plastered on James' face as he looked back at Harry.

" nah I think I'll leave this somewhere for Longbottom to find!" Harry declared snatching a broom from a Ravenclaw's hands and shooting into the air. He circled round taunting Achlys as chucked the object up and down.

Finally having enough Achlys mounted her broom and raced after him chasing him through the air until she was by his side, reaching out she snatched the glass sphere from Harry's hands and landed again, not waiting to hear the cheers of her housemates as she stormed of to the infirmary.

yeah and basically she then met up with us to give Neville his rememberball back and while she was there Professor Flitwick came by with Roger Davies to tell her they want her to be a chaser on the team." Eleana concluded. "She was pretty ecstatic about." Alex added while reading over the letters Kira had written.

"Ahhhh my baby girl got on the team in first year, I'm so proud!" Barty screamed pulling Achlys into a hug, Even simply pat her head with a proud smile.

"Yeah but then Flitwick told us that Harry got on the Gryffindor team as a seeker, not only that but he and Ron received no punishment." Eleana groaned at how unfair it was. "Gods that sucks, anyway the letters are done, we can send them now." Kira remarked holding up the two envelopes, one with the stone securely attached to it.

Cassiopeia nodded whistling a short tune and holing out her left arm, as she whistled a large glowing azure form came racing towards them. Soon enough the form stopped and perched on Cassiopeia's outstretched arm, it was a familiar phoenix, the same one that came from her Le Fey crown. "Hey Lux, do you mind giving these letters to Lord Flamel and Miss Bones please?" Cassiopeia scratched the underside of the birds beak as it preened, then with a brilliant flash she disappeared with the letters.

"We can all head back to my dorms for tonight if you want." Jake offered standing up with a grunt, a series of nods drifted over the group as they all stood and began their descent into the depth of the castle.
