When Cassiopeia woke the next morning, she found Ginny laying across her stomach, Kira on the floor and Eleana by her feet. It was early still, the sun was only just above the horizon but she found herself unable to fall back asleep. Carefully, she wiggled out from under Ginny, moving a pillow in her place for the young girl to hold. Quietly, she went about getting ready, changing into one of the few outfits she had taken back from camp. It wasn't something she would ever typically wear in the magic world, with her image to uphold and all, but it was all she had on hand so it would have to do. A white tank top, blue cuffed jeans, an open red shirt, red converse and her usual jewellery.
"You look like Prongs dressed like that." Sirius remarked sending a nod to James who was clad in a a red shirt with the top buttons undone to show a white top underneath, blue jeans, red converse and a few silver rings. Cassiopeia nodded mutely, she wanted to smile and say she was told that a lot but in truth the first person to compare her to her father was Fleamont. Usually she was only ever told she looked like her mother or even Sirius himself.
"Morning." Cassiopeia cursed when Fred appeared behind her in the kitchen, not noticing when he walked in. "You're up early, have any plans for today?" He leaned against the counter, sipping on a mug of coffee. In all honesty he was dressed far more presentable than her with a white shirt, the top two buttons undone, dark green trousers and a matching waistcoat, the jacket to go with it was thrown over one of the tables.
"Your brother is fit." Kira whispered to George.
"We're identical twins." He rolled his eyes. "Yeah well, he's definitely fitter." She smirked.
"I will tell your girlfriend." He threatened. Kira gasped dramatically and made a zipping motion over her lips.
"Well I was planning on heading over to see Padfoot, Mooney, dad, Corvy, and Roro, but I also need to catch up on all my family duties. I probably have a mountain of paperwork to do because I was away all summer." She said spreading butter over her toast. Fred nodded, he probably wouldn't have understood what she was talking about before but now that he had claimed heirship to the Prewette name him and George also had tones of paperwork to catch up on that had compiled over the last couple of decades and continue to grow over their summer at camp.
"That's true, how was you been since we left camp?" He asked. She was quiet for a second her mind racing to give a decent answer. "I've been ok, just a little on edge but nothing too bad." She smiled at him, "I should get moving, I want to see them all before I have to hide away to complete my work. Can you tell the others that I've left please." She placed her dishes in the wash before making her way out of the kitchen.
She gathered up all her things before leaving, using the fireplace to floo to the Black family home. Sirius had insisted that they stayed in Grimwald place after cleaning everything, he may not have had many pleasant memories there but it was safe, it had excellent wards so he could put everything else aside. Grimwald place was extremely nostalgic for Cassiopeia, while she may have spent the majority of her time over the years with the Black family in Black manor, they had made sure to spend a decent amount of time in the smaller home as well.
It had changed since she was last there, perhaps because that was nearly 10 years ago now, but she hadn't expected such a drastic difference. She couldn't quite described it, the magic around her felt wilted, the rooms lacked the light she had grown up with. She knew Kreacher cleaned often, he cared greatly for the home, but still a layer of dust seemed to smother everything she saw. Stepping further into the living room she let her gaze wandered, images of three young children chasing each other through the rooms flashed before her eyes accompanied by the echos of a long lost laughter. She doubted these walls had heard a genuine laugh in a long time.
