Masquerade Ball

Yule eve fast approached and the shooting stars set to perfect every detail of their ball, they had moved into Ravenclaw castle a week prior to the ball so that they could prepare for the event. Everything was going exactly to plan, their outfits had arrived two days before the ball, as had their father's, Sirius', Corvus' and Remus', the gigantic ball room had been fully decorated, glowing stars hung from the high ceiling around the diamond chandelier in the centre, Jake had cast a spell to create the appearance of falling snow to add to the atmosphere and theme of the ball. All the decorations from table cloths and chair covers to candles and plates were in shades of light blue and white. The weather had cooled drastically over the winter break, snow blanketed the floors and roofs creating a magical chilly atmosphere. "Do you think everything is ready for tomorrow's ball?" Eleana asked handing out cups of warm tea and hot chocolate that the house elves prepared as they all huddled under blankets in private living room of the castle with the large oak fireplace roaring. "Of course it's all ready, I believe guests should begin arriving at 6:00 in the evening, food will be served at 7:30 then most people will be gone by midnight." Cassiopeia tucked her legs underneath herself as she snuggled into Jake's side, a cup of tea in her hand and a large blue patchwork blanket over her body.

"Awe don't you look cozy love, I particularly love the messy bun, it makes you look so cute." Percy teased kissing her cheek as he spoke. "Hay it was really cold." Cassiopeia defended slapping his stomach lightly causing him to dramatically swoon onto Jake who caught him, "don't worry Percy your knight in shining armour is here." Jake proclaimed laughing. "Oh my saviour." Percy said in high pitch voice as he caressed Jake's face causing everyone around them to burst out laughing at their antics.

"Humm that means we need to start getting ready at, what, 12:00? We can get ready together too." Kira thought out loud as she looked up from a sketch she was doing, "Cass stop moving for a second I'm almost done." She ordered going back to her sketch.

That night they made sure to go to bed early so that they would have plenty of energy for the next day's affairs. When morning rolled around each of the five got out of bed and headed to the dining room were the house elves Mipsy and Mo were laying out breakfast, "thank you, you two please take a break until later you'll have a lot to do when the guests arrive." Jake pat their heads as they left the room with a pop. "Are you guys excited, I can't wait till later!" Eleana was as energetic as ever as she ate her food, being careful not to make a mess, the others smiled at her feeling slightly more awake and excited at the other girls joy. "Yep I can't wait either, it's going to be magical." Alex stated as he tapped Eleana's nose with a broad smile, the group engaged in light conversation as they ate before heading off to do different things until noon when they would all have to get ready. Cassiopeia was reading on the sofa in her room when the door flew open and Eleana and Kira came bursting in, bags floating behind them as they entered. "Ok let's get ready, strip of your clothes and put a robe on, then we can do each other's hair and makeup." Kira ordered as she began setting up all the things they would need, complying, Cassiopeia changed into a light blue silk robe similar to the pink and purple ones Eleana and Kira were wearing. "How about me and Kira do your hair and makeup first then we can switch." Cassiopeia suggested, gesturing for Eleana to take a seat as she and Kira began working to get her ready. For the next few hours the girls joked and sang as they prepared for the up coming ball. "Wow. Ok now let's change did you bring your dresses?" Cassiopeia admired the girls handy work in her mirror, her long hair was pinned up into a beautiful bun with small curled strands framing her face, she had opted to wear the Le Fay crown for the event finding it fitted the theme best, she had soft blue eye makeup and a light pink lips almost identical to Eleana and Kira's makeup. Eleana had her flaming locks braided into a crown at the front and then the rest were curled and left lose while Kira had her braids pined half up in a bun with the rest down, a blue ribbon tying the bun, safe to say they each looked beautiful. "Of course we brought our dresses." Eleana rolled her eyes as she pulled a stunning blue dress with silver details out of a bag, Kira grabbed a planer blue dress with a bow around the waist. Each girl stepped into her dress asking one of the others to help her do up the back, "do you think the boys are ready, it's already 4:20?" Kira asked as she helped Cassiopeia re buckle one of her shoes, blue healed Mary Jane's, that had come undone. "Probably let's go find them, dad, pads, Mooney and Corvy should be here soon too." Eleana suggested leaving Cassiopeia's bedroom in search of their brothers who they found waiting and dressed in the living room, Jake was in a white suit with blue aspects and Alex was wearing blue trousers and a white shirt and jacket.
